I was more than excited for auditions for The Merry Men. I got a bright start that morning and picked out an outfit that I thought would work well with my guitar.
I headed down to the Charmitorium with my guitar on my back. The hallways were empty, despite it being eight-thirty in the morning. I opened the door and stood in the shadows, watching as Tucker and another boy walked into the room.
Tucker set up the equipment for auditions and looked at his watch. He watched the door as I smirked in the shadows. He was oblivious of my presence.
After fifteen minutes, Tucker turned to the other boy and threw his hands up in frustration. "(Y/n) said she would be here by now!" he exclaimed.
"Are you sure you want this chick joining the band? I mean, she's not in our story anyways. We don't even know if she's that good," the boy reasoned.
"She's good, trust me. I heard her walking past her dorm," Tucker explained.
They both turned around, and I took it as a chance. I walked out of the shadows, my heels clicking as I walked. The boys turned around, and their eyes widened. Tucker smiled.
"I didn't disappoint you, did I?" I questioned.
"No, you didn't. Show us what you've got, (Y/n). Prove to us you belong in our band," Tucker said, walking off of the stage with the boy.
I walked up the stairs to the stage and pulled the guitar over my shoulder. I played my guitar the way I did the day before, no mistakes and perfectly-tuned chords. The boy's jaw opened and then closed after I was done, unable to speak. "So, am I in?" I smiled victoriously.
The boys both looked between them, nodding to each other then nodding to me.
I walked off the stage and shook both of the boys' hands. I walked out of the auditorium and to my dormitory, letting my hair flow loose and changing out of my outfit. Something more fitting for a Chapterday morning would be preferred.
Cupid yawned from her side of the room as I walked out of the closet. "Hey, roomie. What are you doing up so early?" Cupid asked groggily. Her pink hair was tangled and her eyes were half-lidded.
"Cupid, it's almost ten in the morning," I said, worried my roommate was still half-asleep.
Cupid's eyes opened fully and shot out of bed into her closet. She came out in her regular outfit and her hair completely straight. "I'm going to be late for the club meeting!" Cupid panicked as she grabbed her things and ran out the door.
I furrowed my eyebrows. I questioned Cupid's statement as Raven knocked on the doorframe.
"Hey, (Y/n). Come on! We have to sign you up for a club!" Raven smiled.
I got up from your bed and followed Raven outside and into the courtyard. Booths were set up left and right. I glanced at Raven when I saw a booth in my particular interest: the Happi-glee Ever Afters. I walked over to the booth. One member glanced at me and smiled.
"Oh, hi. Would you like to sign up?" the girl asked, holding up a clipboard.
I nodded and signed my name on the sheet. The girl smiled again. "Great, thank you for signing up. The club meetings unfortunately won't start for a couple of months, due to The Merry Men taking up all the concert spots at the beginning of the year." The girl rolled her eyes.
I noted not to mention anything about me being in the Merry Men. The other members waved to me as I walked away with Raven. I waved back and headed towards the doors.
"Well, that was easy," Raven laughed.
"Yeah. It's kinda easy to sign up for something when you know what you like," I explained.
