“Mikael?”

Suddenly feeling the Original squeezing her neck, he spoke. “Hello Doppelganger.”

“But I killed you! You burned!” El wheezed out. Any magical instinct was thrown out of the widow when she saw him.

Mikael leaned forward to where their noses almost touched. “You did.” He spat. “Let me return the favor.”

El screamed, hitting the heavy bag with a huge burst of magic, sending it flying across the garage. Dasher whimpered and ducked behind the weight bench. “Sorry Bud.” The witch apologized to him as her hand rubbed her face. Once she proved to herself that she was indeed in the real world, El pushed out her hand and began lifting the bag with magic, bringing it back to where it was.

Just as it sat back down, Jenna walked in. “Are you okay? I heard a crash.”

“Yeah.” El waved it off. “My magic just popped.”

Her guardian crossed her arms over her chest. “I don’t think your ‘magic popping’ is considered a good thing, Elena.”

“Well luckily it was just a one time thing.” The doppelganger undid her wrappings. “Right, Dash?” But Dasher just gave her a snort and walked back into the house, causing El to wince. “Fine. I’m just a little shake’in from the trip, I’ll be alright. I promise.”

“I could help if you told me what happened.” Jenna pushed, wanting to help her niece.

“It was witch business.” El told her.

The strawberry blond cocked her head to the side. “Is that why you took Caroline?” Elena paused her movements, not knowing what to say. Jenna took this as an invitation to continue speaking. “Look. I get that you know future things and you won’t tell us why things need to be done, but you’re still a kid-”

“I’m not though.” Elena turned around. “Let’s be real Jenna, my childhood ended when I woke up in the hospital. It ended when I was thrusted into this life having to make plans that protect the people that I care about, that I love.” She threw her hands up. “And not to mention my mentor hasn’t been visiting me lately or that I’m repeating the same nightmare over and over again-”

“What nightmare?” Jenna questioned. Seeing the look on El’s face, Jenna asked again. “ Elena, what nightmare?”

“It’s just of this really old vampire, okay? I’m fine.” The doppelganger checked the time. “I need to get ready for school, I’ll see you later.”

“Fine.” The human huffed. “But after school we are continuing this conversation.”

“I have work after school.”

“When you come home from work then.”

“I don’t know what to do.” El told Caroline as they walked in front of the school. “I want to tell Jenna what happened, but I don’t want to freak her out about the whole Charlotte situation.”

“You’re gonna have to tell her eventually.” Caroline shrugged. ”Just rip it off like a bandaid.”

Elena looked at her. “Yes, cause telling my aunt that I murked someone is like ripping off a bandaid.”

“Well I don’t know!” Care squealed, causing the brunette to laugh. “Stop laughing!” The blonde told her, laughing as well.

“Caroline. Elena.” A voice said behind them. Both twisted their heads to see Bonnie walk up behind them.
