Chapter 6

" now let's go up to the house I got dinner waiting " hades spoke smiling. " that's sound good let's grab the bags"  Zeus said and lifted the bags up into his arms and walked up the stairs to the big house.  " it so beautiful here in dragons keep" Reid spoke sighing softly looking at all the view from the high mountain village. " I bet I can touch the stars!" He spoke staring up at the sky. " well tonight it's supposed to snow and become a blizzard " hades spoke opening the door. " So no exploring outside alone without proper clothes" Zeus says eyeing the young demon male. " fineeeee I promise " Reid laughed and  ran off into the house to explore leaving the brothers alone.
" so mates you sensed them" Zeus spoke looking at his older brother. " my wolf can feel them they have met and. Are safe it awoken when one .... Was stabbed and almost died " hades spoke rubbing his chest. " our curse and blessing " Zeus asked tilting his head." Yeah mother always said a wolf knows and feels what their other mate feel " hades says sighing and opening up a jar a scotch and poured himself a glass. " right now I can feel their exhaustion if it gets any worse I'll have to leave and help I don't think I'll come home for a long time brother, maybe not even at all" hades spoke downing his entire glass in one go. " well brother We will always end up in intertwining crossroads and end up helping each other " Zeus spoke sitting down. " I might even take the prince and go on the run we are mates but he betrothed to another by his father." Zeus sighed with a distant look in his eye " we both need a drink" a hades laug pouring two drinks this time and handing one to Zeus. .
" I like that running away with you" Reid spoke up spooking the two brothers " Reid think of what you would be saying we wouldn't be able to just live we would always be on the run your father wouldn't give up easily " Zeus spoke.  " Zeus I don't want anything but you even if don't get to live in a fancy castle or a privilege life I want to be with you" Reid spoke and hugged Zeus tightly. " let me think on it my little demon I'll have to figure a plan out first before we just go off and do this" Zeus spoke. " he got you wrapped around his little fingers brother " hades laughed watching the two young boy embrace each other and blush. " not now hades anyways we should eat dinner and get the fireplace going " Zeus spoke coughing clearing his throat and kisses Reid forehead before going outside to the firewood pile.
" he loves you a lot Reid" hades spoke setting some bread and stew on the table. " I never seen him so relaxed or happy he always so serious " hades smiled. " I love your brother and I'm glad to protect him though it seem like he protects me the most " Reid smiles blushing looking down.  " he will always protect you Reid just trust him and let the noble spirits of your and our land guide you " hades spoke and quieted down as Zeus entered the room. " you okay you both are smiling weirdly " Zeus spoke and squinted his eyes looking between them as he threw the fire into the fire place.  " just a small chat Zeus " Reid spoke smiling. Zeus smiles back and eyes turned into red like a fire and blew fire into the fireplace starting a nice farm fire before they returned to their normal color as he walked to the table where hades was. " come on over Reid it time to eat" hades spoke and the small demon smiled and walked over sitting next to Zeus as a bowl of stew was laid out in front of him with a few slices of bread. " thank you  for the food hades " Reid spoke taking a bite out of his bread. " nonsense and call me big brother your family now " hades smiled and Reid smiled back nodding. " so the snow is already hitting hard " Zeus spoke staring out the window at the growing wind and ice storm. " ..I have to go " hades spoke eyes glowing dropping everything . " what wrong ?" Reid spoke. " my mates are freezing out in the storm goodbye it will be a awhile before we meet again protect each other" hades spoke and ran out into the storm flying away disappearing
" be safe big brother" Reid spoke quietly watching snow fall.
