Hello everyone!

Enjoy the (kind of late) update!<3

"So wait, tell me this again?" Scarlet's voice passes through the receiver.

"Yeah, I'm lost." Myra adds. I was having a three-way conversation on the phone with them, lying on my bed. I had gotten home from Sweet Scoops a couple of hours ago and I was telling them all about it.

"My co-worker is Shane Martin, the dude I accidentally kissed yesterday." I explain slowly and thoroughly for the third time.

"Yikes! That's pretty bad." Myra admits. I breathe out and roll over on my side.

"Tell me about it." I say and fiddle with the end of the blanket.

"No wait a second! This could actually be good." Scarlet says enthusiastically. I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion. Leave it to her to say the absolute unthinkable.

"No offense Scar, but there's really no way any good will come out of this situation." I tell her bluntly. Usually I'm the one that's looking at the positive side, but this time, I'm not even going to try. My summer is going to be miserable. Period. There's really nothing else I can say to that.

"Yeah, but think about it. You're working with a hot guy for 2 whole months, something is bound to happen." She contemplates. Seriously, I don't understand her logic.

"If by something you mean me slaughtering him, then yeah, something is definitely bound to happen." I tell her sarcastically.

"Actually Beena, she may be right." Myra agrees. I can practically hear the mischievous smile dancing on her lips.

"Think about it. You've already kissed him, it's only a matter of time before it happens again..." Scarlet trails off teasingly. I giggle at how stupid they're being and shake my head.

"You guys are idiots. Nothing is going to happen between us, alright?" I say, hoping to convince them that Shane and I are not meant to be.

"You just keep telling yourself that, honey." Myra says. I mentally groan. Why do best friends have to be so annoying sometimes? You accidentally kiss a hot guy and they automatically think you're going to get married.

"Kill me now..." I mutter, burying my face into my pillow.

"Face it Beena, love is inevitable, and the more you keep running away from it, the more harder it hits you." Myra says. I yawn and check the time. It was already 10:00, and I had to wake up early tomorrow to go back to the torture chamber they call work.

"I should probably get some sleep, wouldn't want to be late tomorrow." I mumble sleepily.

"You're right. Wouldn't want to embarrass yourself in front of your boyfriend." Scarlet teases.

And that's when I whipped my phone across the room.

My fingers carefully twist the volume knob to the right, making the radio in my car more loud and prominent. I turn into the parking lot of the collection of shops, one of which is Sweet Scoops. It was my second day of the job, and I was hoping that it might be easier than yesterday.

I step out the car, and adjust my pastel purple Sweet Scoops tank top. Yesterday afternoon Deborah had mailed me several other uniforms in a variety of colors and styles. Tightening my high ponytail, I walk around the colorful tables outside the store and push open the door. The bells jingle on the top of the door and I walk into the shop. Shane is already there, wiping down some tables with a cloth. He's wearing one of his new shirts too, except his is a baby blue t-shirt.
