Chapter 4: Dragon parade

It's a good day outside, the sun is rising and the moon is descending into the sea. Y/n wakes up to find himself in some sleeping bag, he checks his surroundings to see he isn't in his room but the human Luz's room. The shaman looks at his left arm to find it warped with bandages, he remembers what happened yesterday. After returning Eda to normal, Luz tends to his wounds, he must have fallen asleep due to blood loss, think to himself.

He stands up to find Luz sleeping soundly near the window with a blanket on top of her. Fearing for her safety, he carries her down onto the sleeping bag when he is about to walk away, Luz grabs one of his legs and sleeps talking:" Please don't leave. Mom..."

Realizing the human was having a nightmare, Y/n kneel and stroked her head like a mom to calm down her crying baby. Luz then releases the shaman's leg, he then walks out of the room and closes the door behind him in silence.

Y/n:" Why did I.... do that...." Putting both his hand on his face as his cheeks blushed in red, a sign of embarrassment.

As Y/n finished washing, he walk down to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast since Eda still need time to recover. He searches through Eda's fridge to find mostly eggs, butter, and apple juice then he searches the cupboard finding some flour and some human junk.

Y/n:" Good old Eda, never clean her mess up." He grumpily said.

Using whatever he finds, Y/n begins to make breakfast for the house.

Eda walked down from her room, she smell something good coming to her nose, a smell of eggs, and butter mixing. Enter the kitchen she found Y/n is cooking, flipping something from a pan.

Eda:" My oh my, if it isn't my favorite, Syrus special pancakes isn't it."

Y/n:" Good morning how are your rest? And yes something like that I can't find a sauce so the butter will do."

This reminds Eda of when she was an early adult, Syrus always make these for her when she goes to his shop. She remembers how it smells, how it helps her through tough times especially the taste of it, the surface of the one Syrus make outside soft like baby skin, inside is like cotton candy and combine with apple sauce, Eda's favorite, she can eat it all day long.

Y/n put down a stack of pancakes in front of Eda, making her snap out of her good old days. She picks up one pancake with her hand and throws it in her mouth. When she chews the pancake, she can feel the outside skin is soft but the inside is explode with melted butter.

Eda:" I'm impressed, even though you cook like your mentor but still manage to make it your own." She praises Y/n for his cooking

Y/n smiled a bit as he put 3 more pancake dishes down on the table and eat one of them. While eating, Eda thinks about what happened yesterday after seeing his left arm.

Eda:" Hey Y/n, I am sorry for biting you yesterday."

Y/n:" You don't have to, you weren't you yesterday. Eda my offer is still up, I can help you with that curse of yours."

In Y/n experience, he has seen shamans who got possessed and became wild demons attack everything in sight. He has to put many of his friends down because they were turned, once turn there no going back. The more Y/n he thinks about that, he fears that one day he has to do the same to Eda if she lost herself. Tears beginning to form in his eyes, he has lost his mentor, and his family but he wouldn't dare to lose one more.

Eda:" Wipe those tears, apple boy. I am a grown-up adult, I know how to handle myself. Don't worry when Syrus came back, he will see a curse-free Eda, I promise this time."
