“Mari… I’m… I’m so sorry...” cried Hero in an attempt to comfort Mari.

She wasn’t sure what she was feeling right now. Regret? Despair? Misery? Mari walked closer to the edge where her brother just jumped from. Staring down below she could still see him falling closer to the ground, mere seconds from death. It was a long way down. Which meant one thing.

“It’s not over. Don’t worry Sunny, Mari’s coming!” Taking a deep breath, Mari focused her mana throughout her body, giving her the necessary speed and agility to propel herself after Sunny. Pushing her leg down upon the building, Mari felt as the floor began to crumble beneath her. Diving headfirst after Sunny, Mari jumped.

“Wait, Mari!” yelled Hero from the edge as he watched her plummet down below. “Oh god, I hope she can fly.”

Mari can’t fly, all she could do was fall with style. Not only that but she didn’t exactly have a plan for after she caught up with Sunny. But one thing was certain, she was getting closer to him.

Falling after him felt like one of Mari’s dreams, endless. It was like the hospital building was actually growing past them, rather than them descending from its peak. Not only that, but Mari could’ve sworn she began to hear music and a shotgun as well. As ridiculous as that sounds, she was grateful as the long fall gave her enough time to reach her brother.

Reaching out her hand Mari was within reach to grab one of Sunny’s ankles. Taking hold of the boy’s leg, he began to thrash about. “Sunny stop that! You’ll mess up the teleportation spell!”

Throughout his tantrum, Mari finally caught a glimpse at her brother’s face. Rage and confusion adorned whatever wasn’t covered in bandages. “He should just die,” called the boy.

“How about, no?” Pulling Sunny upwards Mari was able to deliver a blow to the boy’s neck, knocking him out cold. With still a few feet remaining before she fell to the ground, Mari cast her warp spell to land into a hospital room.

“Holy shit, Kel, I think that was Mari and Sunny outside!” cried Aubrey who stood by the window.

“Aubrey what are you talking about there’s no…” Joining her by the window Kel stared at the two figures that neared the ground. “Oh man, I think you’re right!”

“Shit, we gotta-” Aubrey was soon interrupted as the siblings appeared right before her eyes. “What the fuck!”

“Aubergine, language!” yelled Mari, who held an unconscious Sunny in her arms.

“Y-yes, ma’am!” replied Aubrey, “but were you guys just outside? We’re like on the forty-seventh floor!”

“Yeah! For a second I thought Aubrey was becoming skirts forensics or something until I saw it myself!” yelled Kel. “And, where’s Hero? We saw him run off somewhere just a few minutes ago.”

“One, Kel you mean schizophrenic,” corrected Mari. “And B, Hero should still be...”
