I highly advise you to read my main book: Favorite Kid if you haven't and just so happened to stumble upon this first, as that story provides better context to the scenes present in this one.

As some of these scenes still portray Yandere behavior, I have to clarify that I absolutely do not condone these actions in real life; this is all merely a work of fiction and is not meant to be taken seriously as it's simply for entertainment purposes.

Encanto and its characters belong to its rightful creators and Disney.

Uh, I hope you enjoy this extra nonsense.

Initially, this special was going to be split into two parts as the first draft was very, very long – about ~4k words long (and probably more if I continued it), but I read it again and was having second thoughts, so I removed and modified some scenes.

Alternate beginning segment with Bruno, plus a flashback and interaction with Mirabel:

Your eyelids slowly drift open to dark surroundings. Tilting your head up to look at the window, the sky was still a deep shade of midnight, but there was a very tiny sliver of orange in the horizon, indicating that dawn was approaching. No use in heading back to sleep now, you already had enough. Time to get ready for another day, same as always.

Stretching your limbs and sitting up, you notice a plate on your bedstand. Lifting its cover, your nose is greeted with the smell of freshly baked dough. It was a plate of buñuelos. This must've been from dinner last night, but why does it seem fresh? It was warm to the touch, but you weren't complaining, it tasted absolutely delicious, making you finish the entire plate in an instant.

Being mindful of your curly-haired roommate's sleeping figure, you got dressed and went out quietly, taking the empty dish with you. Heading to the kitchen, you were surprised to see the ever-so disheveled figure of Bruno, intently looking down at something you couldn't make out while mumbling inaudibly to his rats as he drank what you assumed to be coffee.

"Good morning, tío Bruno."

Upon hearing your voice, the curly-haired man yelped and faced you, instinctively hiding whatever he was looking at.

"Ah! Oh... uh, morning! What're you doing up so early?" The curly-haired ravenet smiled sheepishly, awkwardly attempting to pose as naturally as he could.

"Could say the same to you." You chuckled, which made the man slightly flush as he hid the object behind his back. Bruno usually wakes up prior to everyone else, but today was special, so he got up extra early to prepare something for you. He can't tell you about it though, that was already made very, very clear by everyone last time they planned.

The night during dinner without you, Abuela brought up that your birthday was coming soon. Not like they needed to be reminded, anything related to you was already engraved into their minds. This year, everyone wanted to plan a surprise. Granted, if everything goes accordingly without anyone spilling.

The family was already thinking of gifts and acts of services they could provide, but more importantly, you needed to get away from the house. Not only because they needed to set up, but also since you just seemed like you've been feeling a bit... hectic lately.

"Alright, who's going to distract—" Julieta was instantly interrupted by a multitude of eager voices.

"Me!" All of the grandkids yelled in unison as they all looked at each other in disbelief. Of course everyone wanted to spend time with you...
