Totally not a Robbery

By the time they came up with a plan to 'un-steal' an ice cream truck, the sun had slipped behind the rooftops of Twilight Town. Roxas, Xion and Axel peeked around the corner of a building, watching the front doors of Scrooge's restaurant intently.

"OK, so....we just park the truck by the entrance and leave?" whispered Roxas.

"We'll have to turn off the security cameras somehow," Axel licked one of the leftover popsicles he had brought with him. "I bet there's a way to turn them off from the inside."

"Hold on. We're breaking and entering now?!"

"It's not that bad if we're trying to return stolen property, right? We're doing what any hero in a movie would do."

"....Avoiding the police?" Roxas shook his head. "Whatever. Let's just get this over with."

"Alright, once Scrooge leaves, we'll sneak in through one of the side windows. There doesn't seem to be any cameras on that side of the building, so we're good to go. Then we turn off the security cameras, leave the ice cream truck out front and the cops will get off our tails."

"And then we rob them!" Xion pulled a freshly-made bank robber outfit out of her bag.

"WHAT?! Nonononoo, we will NOT rob them!"

"Riiiight," Xion winked. "Totally not a robbery."

"Xion....I'm beginning to worry about your new hobbies," Axel turned back to observing the restaurant. "Hey, get down! I think Scrooge is leaving."

Axel shoved Roxas and Xion down the alleyway and out of view. The duck waddled out the doors, counting money in his hands, and locked the entrance with a key. They were just close enough to hear him mutter something about a lemonade stand having less expenses than the restaurant, and he disappeared down the street.

"The duck walked up to the lemonade stand...." Xion started to sing softly, and Roxas raised his finger to his mouth.

After double checking that the coast was clear, they crept out of the alley in the dark, and Axel led the way around the restaurant before halting at a large window. "Hmm....now, how do we pry this open....?"

A rock flew through the air and shattered the window into a million pieces.

Axel and Roxas whirled around and stared wide-eyed at Xion, whose arm was still raised in the air.

"Oh. That was louder than I expected. Welp, time to put this on," Xion pulled a plastic batman mask over her face.

The window opened up into the dimly lit kitchen, where rows of cooking utensils cast gloomy shadows in the moonlight. Roxas entered first, and inched across the floor, keeping an eye out for any more cameras.

"Would this place have booby traps?" Roxas asked in a hush voice. "Like, lasers on the floor or something."

"Why would it? It's not a bank."

"I wish it was," mumbled Xion.

Roxas reached a door at the other side of the kitchen and turned the handle back and forth.

"Dang it! The door's locked."

Xion raised her arm with a rock in hand again.

"NO!"

"OK, OK! Fine! How about this?" Xion put the rock back in her pocket and with a flourish of her arm, a keyblade appeared in her hand. Axel and Roxas gazed at her.

"Couldn't you have....you know, used that to open the window....?" asked Roxas.

Xion bashed the door in with her keyblade, and then looked back at him.

"Could I do what now? Ah, yeah, I guess I could have unlocked it. Oh, well."

Roxas smacked his face with his palm.

Behind the broken door was an office, where Axel promptly sat down behind the desk and turned on the computer. The screen flashed on.

"Uh....it wants a password."

Xion raised her keyblade, but Roxas grabbed her arm and held her back.

"Try.....um....#1 dime?"

"Huh....yeah, that worked. Scrooge isn't very original."

"Hey, don't be mean to the artist."

"I meant the password."

"Oh."

"HURRY UP ALREADY!" Xion shoved Axel out of the chair and smacked a bunch of buttons until a new page popped up. "Oh! Look! I found a way to turn off the security!"

Axel sat up and rubbed the back of his head where he had hit the floor. "Well, that's convenient. But I could have found it without being attacked."

As Xion was switching off the camera, a voice piped up from the kitchen.

"It's you?!"

Roxas yelped and spun around to find Naminé standing by the smashed door, clutching her sketchbook to her chest.

"Uh...." Axel poked his head over the desk. "I think we've been caught."

"I'M BATMAN!" Xion screamed and proceeded to bash in another window, raining glass all across the carpet.

"I thought you were a bunch of criminals!" Naminé leaned forward, looking around at the trashed room. "Why are you doing this?!"

"We're here to rob-" Axel pushed Xion out the window before she could finish.

"Why are you here?" Axel asked Naminé.

"Oh....um...."

"She's here to rob the robbers!" Xion shouted from the other side of the window.

"What?! No, I was here because Scrooge wanted a new logo for one of his businesses. He saw me drawing and hired me on the spot. Though I think he underpaid me...."

"That doesn't explain why you're in a closed restaurant." Axel pressed.

"I was so quiet while drawing the new design, Scrooge forgot I was in here and locked the doors...."

Roxas, Xion and Axel stared at her.

"What?"

"That's just sad," Xion mumbled, and Axel pulled down the window blinds in front of her.

"So, uh, Naminé....you won't tell anyone about this, will you? Please?" Roxas pleaded.

"I'll give you leftover ice cream," Axel chimed in.

"I'LL ROB A BANK FOR YOU!" Xion yelled through the blinds.

"Ignore her. Ice cream?"

Naminé looked from Roxas to Axel to the shuffling blinds. "Um....I...."

"We're just trying to undo a crime!" Xion shouted. "It was Axel's fault!"

"I thought it was free!" he objected.

"Don't listen to them! Anyways, can you please help u-" Roxas turned around to the empty kitchen. "Oh. She's gone."

"Run for your lives!" Xion tore up the blinds with her keyblade, and Axel and Roxas quickly jumped out the window.
