The next half of the day passed by in a blur and before I knew it, I was already making my way to the cafeteria. I met up with Abby - short for Abigail while queuing for food. We have been the inseparable ever since elementary. She's 5'5 and has green eyes that stood out from her perfect fair skin. Her long, wavy hair has been dyed red ombré which suited her perfectly. I, on the other hand, was slightly shorter with height of 5'3 and had brown eyes which I dislike. My hair reached up to my lower back. Oh , not to mention the matching red ombré dye.

"Thank god we'll be having health class right after this. I am in serious need to talk to you Abby."
"Oh no, don't tell me it's comfirmed? Wait, let's grab lunch first alright. God, I'm straving.

I shrugged and gave her a small smile as we both got cheeseburger and juice. We made our way to our usual table and noticed that Ryan -Abs boyfriend is already halfway done scarfing down his food. Not much of a shock. "Whoa, calm your tits the food isn't going to magically disappear", I said as I plopped down on the seat opposite of the two lovebirds which I have got used to third wheeling with. Claire told me earlier today that she won't be joining us for lunch cause she needed to return some books to the library. Ryan replied with mouth stuffed and I did not catch a single word he just said. It sounded along the lines of, "Umph- starfffving." But again, he rarely says anything worth listening to so I quickly dismissed it.

Not wanting to hold back this news any longer I interrupted the sweet talk I'm witnessing before my eyes. I have absolutely no idea how Abby manages to communicate with that boy and his mouth stuffed.

Placing my hands on my ears I said "Please guys my ears can't handle", I motioned to their excessive flirting. Abby turned crimson red and Ryan just let out a deep chuckle and returned to eating his food.

"Jeez what is it that you needed to tell me Rile?"
I let out a sigh and filled her up on the final decision that has just been confirmed yesterday night regarding my parent's divorce.

"They got into another huge argument. Seriously , it was pretty bad, I must say.I honestly thought the house was going to collapse."

"Aw, Rile you know me and Ryan are here for you right? Truthfully, I don't know how you're still able to cope with school and everything. Maybe the both of them do need a little break. You know some time apart ? I'm sure things will get better soon."Abs gave me a sympathetic smile.

I wiped of an imaginary tear and cooed, "Don't get all emotional and deep will ya?"

Stuffing the last of his sandwich, he asked " So, it's official ? That you're staying with your mom?"

I simply nodded in response, disappointed that I wouldn't be seeing my dad in a while seeing as he had stormed out of the house last night after the argument leaving my mom and I without saying goodbye even. I'm not even sure if I'll see him again. Although he hasn't always been around due to his work, but he still is my father and i'm still his little girl and that's enough for me to miss his presence especially when mom has been going out with her colleague which I might add,is a guy and also the cause of my parents divorce. Not to mention that she invites him over when my dad goes on business trips. So my dad can't be blamed. It's sad. Really.

Apparently, this guy my mom is seeing happens to have lost his wife due to cancer couple years back and is left with two sons which are about the same age as me. If you're wondering how I know of this, it's because my mom never fails to talk about him and how amazing he is or just literally anything about him. At one point, I've gotten so tired of her constant blabbering that I would just plug in my earphones and basically isolate myself. Not to mention her trying to urge me to meet his sons. I couldn't be bothered to even consider.

After taking a quick glance at the time, I threw my half eaten lunch into the bin. I felt extremely bad for wasting so much food when there are people who are faced with starvation but I really couldn't find my appetite so I signaled for Abby to who, as a matter of fact is currently flirting shamelessly with Ryan, as always, that it's time to head to Health Class. She pouted and reluctantly told Ryan that she would see him after school and giving him a peck on the lips before catching up with me. I internally puked at the sight and with that, we both headed into health class.
