─"VENTI ARE WE RICH NOW HOW ARE WE ABLE TO AFFORD THIS FANCY RESTAURANT!" your jaw dropped in amazement at the exquisite restaurant.
"no unfortunately we are not rich now (y/n), we are still poor." venti chuckled softly.
"then how are we going to afford to reserve a table let alone buy food." you replied sassily.
"the person we will be meeting today has everything covered." venti hummed.
you nodded and took venti's arm as he led you to a table.
"well more like his sugar daddy." venti chuckled under his breath.
"what was that venti." you ask curiously.
"nothing sweetheart." venti sent you a closed-eyed smile.
venti stopped walking in front of a table with a wise-looking man calmly sipping his tea. he was wearing a sleek-looking black suit and nice dress shoes. his eyes were amber with sharp yellow pupils and he had long brown hair tied into a neat ponytail.
you could almost feel the nostalgia radiating off from the man. he didn't look too old but you felt like it was possible that he had lived through 100 lifetimes.
"hey rex laips." venti smiled cheekily.
a gasp left your lips as the man venti introduced as rex lapis set down his tea calmly and sent venti a halfhearted glare.
"venti rex lapis is dead what do you think you're doing going up to this random man and accusing him of being the deceased geo archon." you whisper yelled at venti while sending him an angered look.
you weren't exactly completely up to date with all of the history on liyue but you did know that the geo archon had been very important to the people of the bustling harbor city.
there were many conversations that you listened in on speaking about the former geo archon. you had easily put together context clues and figured out that the geo archon had suffered an unfortunate untimely death and the citizens of liyue city are now in the process of trying to recover.
using all of that information you had come to the conclusion that venti accusing this random man you had never seen or heard of in your life of being the geo archon was highly inappropriate.
venti calmly listened to you rant about how disrespectful he was being and patiently waited until you finished to speak.
"i'll just let him speak fro himself." venti motioned to the brown-haired man who had been watching you reprimand your lover with what looked like intrigue and amusement.
the man rose from his seat and moved in front of you confidently and reached out for your hand to lay a chaste kiss on the back of your hand.
"hello ms. (y/n) it is nice to meet you i am zhongli." he introduced himself respectfully.
he paused before he finished his introduction.
"also known as the former geo archon, rex lapis."
venti and zhongli shared a laugh at the amazed and also extremely confused look on your face.
this was a lot of information to process and you were having trouble knowing where to begin.
venti just took you to liyue to meet an archon.
