Eve POV

We decided to have one final day together before I leave. Getting ready in the mirror was hard. My arms could barely move to put my clothes on. I look in the mirror. A sad face looks back. It's too trying to fake a smile but I have too. I smile. It's too big and fake. They are going to see it right. I will try again. Better. I take a deep breath just fake until you make me tell myself.

Poppa dropped me at the theatre. Today is the day that the students are going to find out if they were picked by the scouts at the recital. I wait outside. The hot sun beaming on my face. A rush of students get out the door. I hear cheers and complaints. People pat their friends on the back saying better luck next time. One kid was cheering his heart. I stood on my tiptoes looking for Ash and Anshia. I can't find them, I'm too short.

"Miss me". I jumped at the voice. Ashwin managed to come up behind me. He looks tired but still handsome. His hair is tied back its getting long now.

"Did you get picked?" I ask.

He smiles "You bet".

"Yessss!"I hug him. He deserves it. He was too good on stage for them not to pick them.He seemed shocked but slowly hugged me back.

"Come on Anshia is inside, Her class is getting the results after mine".

"Am I allowed".

He winked "We get special privileges as the best dancers".

" Cocky much" I snorted.

He shrugs leading me into the building. We walk along the hallways. I see the many trophies on display.

"Hey isn't that you" I pointed at a hanging photo. It's Ashwin holding a trophy with another girl besides him. She is so pretty. Her warm eyes stare into me. She looks so kind.

Ashwin stiffens up. "Yeah.... That's my sister Lakshimi and I two years ago".

"That's so cool she looks so much like you".

"Yeah...".

"She's going to be so proud of you. Have you told her yet?".

"No, I'm going to after we hang out". His voice is weird. I can't pinpoint it but something is off.

I have a feeling I shouldn't ask too much about her. I mean he doesn't even talk about her that much.

"Where's Anshia?" I say as I change the subject.

"Oh her class is just up ahead". He points to a classroom ahead of us. The students are still in and it looks like the teacher is reading names.

She pushes her glasses up and reads "and the soloist that they want is", she smiles "Anshia".

Anshia looks shocked as the rest of her peers cheer and congratulate her. Me and Ash pump our fists in the air, happy for her.

The class is let out with everyone happy and talking. Me and Ash back away letting them through. Several of the girls greet Ash but he only responds with waves and weak smiles. They whisper to themselves when they see me with an unfamiliar face. I smile back at them. Please let there be no misunderstandings. Anshia spots us and says goodbye to her friends.
