Monday morning, Harry has no clue what to expect. The week before the Valentine's dance, everyone is getting asked. He happens to be slightly worried. Of course, he wants to go to the dance. He wants to go with the guy he likes. But he can't find it in him to ask this guy, so instead he plans to spend the entire week worrying that he'd ask someone else and then his heart would be shattered.
Great plan, right?
Wrong.
Because Monday morning Harry finds a small box in front of his locker with his name on top, filled with burgundy and blue rose petals, along with a note. The note simply told him that the burgundy petals symbolize the inner beauty of his persona, and the blue petals symbolize that he's unattainable to whoever had left the box.
Who had left the petals? Complete mystery.
Harry then asks his friends if they'd seen anyone at his locker - they hadn't. So he goes along with his day, the box of petals still in his head, and he makes sure to take them home with him, hoping not only for another box tomorrow, but with something to tell him who had left it.

Tuesday morning comes along and Harry's happy to discover another small box in front of his locker, though he's slightly disappointed when, once again, there's nothing to tell him who had left the box.
He opens this box to find it also filled with flower petals and a note. The note tells him again the meaning of the colors, the pink petals signifying admiration and happiness, and the lavender petals signifying love at first sight, which makes Harry blush lightly.
This has to be someone's idea of flirting with him. He appreciates it, enjoys it even, but who is doing it?
He once again leaves the box of petals in his locker throughout the day, and in the evening he happily takes them home with him.

Wednesday morning Harry runs into the school and to his locker. He can't help but feel excited for the box someone had left him. He's unsurprised and his excitement grows when he finds a box in front of his locker with his name beautifully on top.
Not really that beautifully, the handwriting is actually quite sloppy. Harry finds it beautiful though.
In the box he finds, unsurprisingly, rose petals. Today's petals are a light pink and a coral. He looks at the note to find the light pink are to show admiration, while the coral show desire. He can't help but blush lightly before gently placing the note back in the box and the box in his locker.
When he sees his friends that day, it feels like the right time to check in on his crush, so he asks if they had heard anything about him asking anyone yet. They all deny having heard anything, though his friend Perrie mentions that she heard he's doing a week long project to ask someone, and Harry gets his hopes up.
The rose petals are a week long project, right? So, they could be from him.
His hope stays high throughout the day and he happily takes his box of rose petals home with him that evening and places it with the others.

As he had the day before, Harry runs into the building and instantly to his locker Thursday morning, and he fells a sense of comfort upon seeing the box placed carefully in front of it.
Today he finds white rose petals, symbolizing innocence, and yellow rose petals with red tips, symbolizing falling in love. Once again, Harry finds himself blushing at the note, and he only blushes more when he sees the bottom, which reads "can't wait for tomorrow" with two sloppy xs.
An x symbolizes a kiss, right?
Harry internally squeals before returning the note to the petals and putting the box in his locker once more.
Upon seeing his friends, they ask him how he feels about his crush potentially asking someone to the dance tomorrow. He tells them about his hopes that it had been him leaving the rose petals, along with explaining that even if it wasn't him, he'd say yes to the dance, seeing as the person seems incredibly sweet and he'd love to give them a chance.
He finishes his day with, once again, happily taking the flower petals home and placing the box proudly beside the others.

Unlike the days that had passed, Harry slowly walks into the school Friday morning, and hesitantly looks at his locker. With mixed feelings, he steps towards it. He was slightly disappointed that the person hadn't waited at his locker, had only left the box, but he was also relieved that he didn't have to know just yet.
He opens the box to find red rose petals, with half of the petals partially white, and he smiles at the sloppy note, nerves overcoming him.
Red roses - These are to express the love and respect I feel for you, along with the beauty and courage you posses.
Red/White roses - These express unity, along with my desire to unite with you as I ask, Harry Styles, will you join me to this weekend's Valentine's Day dance?
With love, Louis Tomlinson. x
