Confusion-Igneous

I watch her go as she leaves the clearing on the arm of Maximus. I slump against the rock confused at how things went. Everything was going fine. It was actually going better than fine, and I was enjoying the best kiss of my life. Things got heated so fast between us and when she climbed on top of me I felt myself slipping past the point of no return. My cock was harder than the rock that lay beneath us but a part of me needed to make sure that she was okay where things were heading.

I broke the kiss to make sure she knew what she was doing because she had been so shocked when I first put my tongue in her mouth. Her movements were so innocent and tentative that I didn't want her to feel rushed. However, when I broke the kiss Magma was nowhere to be seen. All I saw was the eyes of her beast and our actions felt wrong. I remember grabbing her waist to try to halt the kiss when a strange look crossed her face.

"Mine" She said in a deeper voice than her normally breathy tone. Then her teeth lengthened, and she pushed my head to the side. I screamed her name when she leaned in toward my throat and the next thing I know her weight was gone as I felt the first prick from her teeth. I reach up to touch the spot and it's still warm to the touch. The spot has a burn to it and as I rub my finger over the small puncture a small wave of pleasure goes through my body. I moan against the feeling as my blood flows south.

I know that I was scared in the moment but a part of me wants to finish what was started. But she left. She said she was sorry, and she left. I have to wonder if she regrets what happened between us. I'm not sure how okay I am with her biting me, but I want to be with her. I start to get angry that she just left me. I rise off the rock ready to go after her when a man walks into the clearing.

I stand taller when I notice his size. This has to be the biggest man I have ever seen. To say that is truly something because at 6'4 I'm a pretty big person. As he walks toward me I can tell even through the distance he is taller than me. I would put money on the fact that he's nearer to seven feet. His shoulders are extremely wide and the robe he wears Is golden just like his hair. There are no doubts in my mind that he is a dragon.
I take an involuntary step back looking around for something in case I need to defend myself. With either flight or fight as my only options I will always be on the losing end. I might as well try to take him down with me if that's the case.

"Be calm. I can sense that you are ready to attack and as Alpha of this clan I have no need to attack you" he says stopping a few feet from me. "I am here only to speak with you."

I look at his face but can't read his expression. I shrug as I answer, "what about?"

"I will speak plain because of the fact that we have so little time. My ability is to see what will make someone be successful and how they will prosper.

Today, I am here to help guide you on your path" He state gesturing to the air around us.

"You don't even know me. What can you possible do to help me?" I question. This guy has got a lot of nerve just showing up like this. I don't need to deal with any of this I need to find Magma. "You know what, never mind. I have somewhere I need to be." I say taking a step toward the exit of the clearing.

"You will not find her. She has taken a flight and won't return for some time." He says and I pause not quite knowing what to do. "If she were here right now you would be doing more harm than good. You need to know what you are getting yourself into if she is what you want." He bends and picks up a flower from the ground bringing it to his nose.

The action shocks me. I wouldn't imagine someone of his size to enjoy something as simple as a flower. From the smile he gives I would say smelling them is something he does often. You would think someone like him was a warrior because of how he was built. I can see why he leads the clan just from his size. "I can feel your curious gaze. Go ahead and ask your questions human" he demands.

"What are you? I mean I know that you're a dragon, but I have this odd feeling about you" I say honestly.

"Yes, that is common for someone in my presence. My size conveys my strength and has everyone immediately fear me at a glance. However, for a gold dragon such as me I do not use it brutely unless I have to. I believe in ruling with love and passion. You are confused because you see both sides. The beast and the man just as you see in Magma, true" he states staring at me.

I shift on my feet knowing that its true. I know exactly what she is, but it hasn't stopped me from wanting her. I know she can be fierce, and protective. However I also know she is sweet and innocent. What I don't know if which part is her beast and which part is just her. "What do I do?" I sigh in question.

"Now that I cannot tell you. Your actions must be your own. I have been in contact with other clans and have found no information on how this will go." He states meeting my gaze.

His irises swirl like liquid gold and as they look into mine I feel a wave of calm pass over me. The heat in my body lessens a bit. "Well, what can you tell me with your gift" I say wanting to end this conversation.

"To find what you want you will have to give up everything just as she will. When the heat is at its peak only then will you surrender. At your surrender you will die but be birthed anew" he says in an eerie voice.

From what he said my mind focuses only on the dying part. I don't want to die. There is so much in this life I haven't done yet. "But I want to live. I didn't ask for any of this. I just want my life back" I murmur.

"To die doesn't only mean death. There are many ways for one to die. Think of it like this human. If you had the chance to have your hearts true desire and everything you want in life, would you take it?" He says turning to look in the distance.
As I think about his question I don't know how to answer. I have never really thought about what I wanted in this life. I have always been happy with my job and the place I found in the world. When I think of my life as a smokejumper now it seems like a distance memory. However, what I found here with Magma seems like it could be so much more. I want to see where it can go. "yes, I would take it" I answer knowing that it is true. I want more for myself.

"Then continue on this path and you find all that you need to prosper" he repeats and then he turns exiting the forest just as fast as he appeared.
I look around the clearing and wonder how I ended up here. When I first looked at it I saw nothing but beauty and after what happened today it somehow all feels tainted. What am I supposed to do now?

"Time to go back to your room, human" I jump at the sound of Maximus voice. I whirl around to find him leaning against the boulder in the spot I had once occupied. I anger when I remember he is the one that removed Magma from me. Heated in anger I take a step forward ready to lay into him.

"Where is she?" I grit out. I tug my collar trying to cool my skin. Even though the weather has been nice it is suddenly sweltering.

"She took a flight. She will be back when she finds her control" he says rising from the boulder. "you can go to your room to wait. I'm sure she will find you when she is ready."

"You're an asshole, you know?" I shout as I begin to follow him.

"I have been told that a time or two. Would you hurry up? You humans move so slow, and I have things to do" he snaps picking something from his teeth and flicking it in my direction.

I groan in anger underneath my breath. "I don't need an escort. I can make it to my room just fine on my own" I grunt picking up my pace. Suddenly he whirls to face me.

"Oh yeah tough guy. Give me one reason why we should trust you. Your kind have done nothing to warrant it. What makes you so different" He spits in my face.

"You don't know me. I have never cause another harm for as long as I have lived. As much as I want to punch you in the face I will refrain because I don't want to hurt her. Now why don't you stop being such an asshole and move out of my way" I snap back. The heat in my body has increased and I can feel my face turning red in anger. Its taking everything I have in me not to try to gut the egotistical jerk in my face.

He takes a step back and seems to search my angry gaze. His nostrils keep flaring and his eyebrows are furrowed in concentration.

"Something wrong with you human. I just can't figure out what." He states.

"There is nothing wrong with me. I am perfectly fine." I say pushing past him to head toward the clinic. I don't have time for this. The sooner I get back to my room. The sooner I will see Magma. I don't need this man in my face trying to tell me who I am. I know exactly who I am. "And the name is Igneous, not human" I spit as I walk away. I don't bother looking behind me knowing that he has pulled his weird disappearing act once more.
I need to shower. This heat is really getting to me, and my skin feels as if it might melt off. Yeah, a nice cool shower is exactly what I need. I swing open the door to the clinic and head straight to my room. everyone must be able to read my emotions because they immediately move out of my way when they see me. I march into my room and throw open the door to the bathroom. I quickly strip and start the shower. When I step in the water is painful. Even at the lowest cold setting it doesn't do anything to diminish the heat I feel.

I shut off the water and throw on the robe without bothering to dry. As hot as I am right now I know I will dry in the air in no time. When I exit the bathroom the guard man is once more occupying the chair. "I don't need you here either" I state as I go to the sink to get some water. I down the first cup and then a second and third. I fill the cup once more and take it back to the bed. I peer out the door wondering when she will come to see me. The sun will be going down soon, and I need her here.

"What are feeling human?" he ask aloud.

"What's it to you?" I grunt looking for the remote.

"Call it looking for a symptom. Something is going on right now?" He says leaning toward me.

I roll my eyes and ignore him as I turn on the television. I need a distraction and finding something violent to watch seems like a good deal. I tug my color once more as I channel surf.

"If you won't answer me then I'm going to have to get the doc back in here" he cautions. I grunt in reply just wanting him to leave already. Where is Magma? I down the other cup of water I got as he leaves the room. I sigh thinking good riddance. Now that he's gone I try to relax. This would all be so much easier if it weren't so darn hot in here. Why they felt the need to turn up the heat, I have no idea.
