I didn't had french anymore that week and all the other lessons didn't even feel like lessons so the week passed by so fast I didn't noticed it was Friday already. In the break I walked into Brandon and he reminded me of the party and I gave him a big smile and told him I didn't forget about it.
"How can I forget about it? It felt like ages ago I went to one." I lied. I went to one last week, to celebrate the end of the summer. Well, celebrate...
"I just wanted to remind you" He winked "It isn't going to be big but cosy. Everyone is going to be there."
"Looking forward to it." I waved him goodbye. I should really do something about the lying. I'm just going to the party because it's the only one in town and I want to have a break from my first week in school.
During lunch Aubrey and I took place at our table but this time there wasn't a beautiful boy seated at it. It was only her and me. She was still talking about how she broke up with him. "He didn't even cry" she constantly said. But the same day I saw him walking in the hallway with his eyes red. He was looking at his feet, trying to hide his face, but I saw.
I caught him.
I ran behind him, tapped him on his shoulder and softly asked if he was okay. He told me he did see it coming because Aubrey was being very quit the last three days or so. As her best friend I can tell she's not really the quiet person. I told him I was there for him if he needed help.
"Isn't that a bit weird?" He said with his bittersweet voice. His eyes still locked to the floor. "You're still her best friend."
"You're right but she can't decide who I can and can't be friends with." I said while trying to look in his eyes that were still looking at the white tiles on the floor. I bend a bit through my knees and came to stand under him, finally looking in his eyes. "Maybe we can walk home together? There's nothing wrong with that, right?" I smiled and he started smiling with me.
We walked home together everyday from then on. In the beginning we only talked about him and Aubrey but now we are only becoming closer and we talked about everything that played on our minds. Sometimes we walked home laughing the whole way, but I didn't mind. It only made me love him more. Today Aubrey was going to wait at my house so I could walk home with Louis again. I was waiting in front of school when I heard footsteps from behind me. I putted on a smile and turned around.
"Hey" I softly said.
"Hey, Ellie, I'm sorry but I can't come to the party tonight." he whispered while pulling me in a hug
"Fuck..." I cursed under my breath. I hoped the party tonight would bring us even closer and that we would finally share our first kiss. Finally feel those soft lips of hime on mine. "It isn't because of Aubrey right? Because she doesn't mind, I asked her."
"No no, it's because I got detention because I didn't like what the teacher said and apparently I can tell her what i'm thinking."
"Maybe you should have told her in a nice way" I smile
"Like you would." We started laughing. Of course I wouldn't, I don't think before I say something. "I'm sorry" He loudly whispered again.
"It's okay, I'm going to miss you though."
"I'm going to miss you too." He winked and I started to walk home. "Ellie, before you go, there is something I would like to do." He said while laying one of his hands on my cheek and his other one on my waist to pull me closer to him.
"And that is?" I looked up in his blue eyes, ignoring the obvious.
"Kiss you" He lowered his head and put his soft lips on mine. I placed my hands around his neck and grabbed his hair. He licked my lower lip, silently asking to open my mouth but I pulled away suddenly remembering we were standing in front of our school.
