4~ Training With The Pervy Sage

Today was the first day of training, and we got to meet Jaraiya. He trained us for the next month. He taught us how to improve our chakra control, and to walk on water.  He also taught us how to talk to our tailed beasts inside of us, and learn the first steps in becoming one with them. And lastly, he taught us how to summon frogs. Naruto wasn't very good at first, but I summoned Gamakichi second try. Naruto kept summoning tadpoles, and eventually a frog the size of his palm. It wasn't until Jaraiya pushed him off a cliff did he manage to summon Gamabunta. We were both completely exhausted after the training, but had made massive success.

Shukaku didn't seem too bad. I had talked with him over the break, and he seemed pretty chill.

After our training was up, we returned home two days before the exams. We gave ourselves just enough time to rest.

On the day of the exams, I made sure to wake up Naruto so he wasn't mad at me again. We headed out the door after we got ready. We were both really nervous, but gave each other encouragement.  He had the first match vs. Neji. I told him to just remember everything Jaraiya taught us over the break, and he seemed to ease up slightly after a while. We arrived at the exam sight a bit early, and we chose a spot to stand. Shikamaru joined us shortly after.

We were informed that the other proctor, Hayate Gekko, was killed over the break, there was a new proctor. He announced the first match of Naruto vs. Neji. Naruto was about to leap onto the battlefield, but I stopped him for a second.

"K, Naruto. You got this, Make sure to keep your distance from him, he's extremely skilled at taijutsu, and can hit your chakra points. Remember Hinata's match. You got this. Try not to use Kurama's chakra unless absolutely neccesary. Whatever happens, me, mom, and dad are proud of you. And if you fail, there's always next time."

I gave him a fist bump, and gave him a big, genuine smile. He smiled back, and jumped down on the field. I cheered for him the whole time, and I think that really boosted his confidence too. And after a long, hard battle, he defeated Neji.

The next match was Shikamaru vs. Temari. Shikamaru complained the whole time. Naruto cheered him on really loudly, and proudly. I decided to also cheer for him. It looked like he was going to win, but he ended up forfeiting in the end. Temari was as confused as everyone else was.

Then it was Sasuke vs. Kanari. Sasuke was barely there in time for his match, after his match was supposed to be the first one. The battle dragged on for a long time. It wasn't until Kanari summoned a giant snake that it started getting interesting. Everyone was freaked out when it started attacking everything around it, causing a lot of chaos.

In the midst of all the chaos, the whole crowd was put under a genjutsu. I quickly dispelled it when I realized that's what it was, and woke up Naruto as well. Kakashi sensei was battling with someone, and told us to wake up Shikamaru, and chase after Kanari, and Temari, and Kankuro, who had escaped, and Sasuke who chased them. I hated the idea of having to fight my blood siblings, but knew it was for the good of the village. There were tons of sound and sand ninja who had invaded, and three giant snakes were destroying the wall around the village.

Shikamaru was already awake, and we used Pakkun to track Kanari's scent. We chased the three of them for a while, until we were stopped by nine sound ninja. Shikamaru offers to battle them himself, and Naruto, after a long argument, reluctantly complies. We run off to chase the others. We find Sasuke, and Kanari battling, and right before Kanari can land a devastating blow on Sasuke, Naruto kicks it away.

Sasuke is in his cursed seal mode. This isn't good. Kanari's way too strong for just a genin. He charges at Sasuke again, but I use my sand to block him. He attacks multiple times at me, but I just continue blocking it. He then eats a food pill which increases his speed, and he almost penetrates my sand. I couldn't react quick enough to block it. I make a sphere of sand around me. I then tap into Shukaku's chakra to help me. With that, my strength increases, and I add more chakra to the sand. I take down the sphere around me, and I prepare to fight.
