The only sound that could be heard within the walls of Nott Manor on October 14th, 1979, were the screams of Josephine Nott, house elves surrounded her whilst her husband was out with Lucius on business. "Something is wrong with my baby!" she screamed, tears streaming down her cheeks. The house elves were keeping her temperature down whilst trying to help as much as they could, at that moment a boy around eighteen apparated in with a house elf by his side. He ran straight to her side while the house elf told the others to leave.
"Josie," the boy whispered as he held her hand in his, "look at me, I'm right here as I told you I would be."
"Reggie." it was as if saying his name would erase all of the pain she was feeling, "where are Cissa and Dora?"
"They are on their way over now.'' Just as Regulus said that the two women in question burst through the door.
"It's okay Josie," Pandora said, pulling potions out of her never-ending bag. "The four of us are in this together and we're going to be seeing that little boy of yours soon."
"You don't understand," Josephine let out another blood curdling scream, "something isn't right, my baby isn't okay."
It was then that Narcissa sat behind her on the bed, legs either side of her body just holding her as another contraction came, losing control of her magic. All the candles in the room went higher and brighter than ever before burning out. Narcissa began rocking Josie back and forth, "I need you to breathe my darling. I know it is hard but just keep looking at Reg."
"I need light Regulus," Pandora let out exasperated, "I need to be able to see my potions."
With that Regulus muttered "Expecto Patronum," no wand in hand. Only the four of them knew he could cast this spell and none of them ever mentioned the stag that stood to attention. Regulus turned to look at the stag affectionately then in a strong voice told him to go and help Dora, the stag did not think twice before obeying and walked over to Pandora for light.
"I've got it," she said quickly, "Josie, drink this. It'll help, I promise my darling."
Josephine took the option without a second thought and immediately felt the pain lift. "Thank you." She muttered as she looked at them all. " I have to tell you something." She put her hands to her stomach, "I'm not going to survive this, so I need you to make me a promise, okay?"
"What do you mean?" Narcissa questioned.
"You're surviving this, Josie." Dora demanded.
"I promise, I already have done it." Regulus spoke softly.
Cissa and Dora looked straight to Regulus when they heard what they had said but Reg was just looking straight at Josie.
"Andy and Ted have the money," Regulus stated, "Should I have Kreacher get the paperwork?"
"Yes, just like we prepared."
"What are you two talking about?" Cissa demanded looking between Josie who was lying in bed and Regulus who had stood up at the end of the bed talking to Kreacher.
"I second that statement," replied Dora.
"I'll explain as soon as I have the paperwork." Josie nodded at Regulus.
"Kreacher." he stated.
"Yes, how can I help Master Regulus?"
"Can you please go and collect the paperwork from my drawer?"
"Of course, Sir." Kreacher disapperated.
"We made a plan for if I die," Josie finally spoke.
"We also made a plan for when I disappear." Regulus spoke plainly.
It was then that Kreacher reappeared with a briefcase in his hands, "I have them Master Regulus, Mistress Josephine."
"Thank you Kreacher," they both spoke together.
"When I die," Josie started, "all of my possessions go to my baby Theodore."
"And, when I go, all of mine go to Andy." Regulus and Narcissa made eye contact and Cissa nodded, "I know what you need of me. Where do I sign to be godmother?"
"Narcissa Amelie Malfoy, do you take responsibility as Godmother of Theodore Isaac Nott?"
"Yes, I take responsibility for him." she responded surely.
"Then please sign right here." Regulus pointed to the section on the paperwork.
"And I know what you need of me," Pandora said solemnly, breaking the silence that had overtaken them "Who does he need to look like?"
"Ted and Andromeda Tonks." Josie and Regulus replied.
"Okay, I'll make it my best work yet."
"How long until you go?" Cissa said worriedly.
"I leave the wizarding world on October 19th."
"How long do you have, Josie?" Dora asked.
"I will die tomorrow."
"How long until you want us to take him to them?" Cissa questioned.
"Let him have six months with his doting godmother and amazing aunt."
"OK." They whispered.
"Are you wanting disappearance, or death?" Cissa requested.
"Death." Josie responded hoarsely, "And Pandora?"
"Yes, my dear."
"Make it believable."
"I promise."
"Thank you, all of you." She held onto both Cissa's and Dora's hands. "Live full lives for me please, I want to hear the stories when I see you again."
"We will." Tears streaming down their faces.
"And you, Mr," she looked towards Reg. "I'll see you in our next lifetime and I swear to Merlin and Morgana, you better have some good stories for when we finally meet."
"I love you, Josie." Regulus responded, kissing her forehead.
"I love you all, but it's time for you all to meet my son." They held hands and smiled at each other for the last time.
Three hours later Josie met and said goodbye to her son before she took her last breath with the ghost of a smile on her lips. Regulus held the newborn for an hour to say goodbye to him before turning to Narcisa and Pandora.
"You both know what has to be done." That statement was followed by two women nodding.
"Okay, I need to know that I love you both so much, and I owe you both my life."
"We're not going to see you again," Pandora said quietly. "Are we?"
"Not until you need to. I have a few things I need to say to people and then I have a mission to complete."
"We promise we will get him out within his first year." Cissa said, tears flowing silently.
"I love you, Reggie." Dora said, running into his arms, as they pulled away from each other Narcissa walked up to him.
"You have done Sirius and Andy proud, little cousin."
"Thank you for everything you've done for me Cissa." Regulus whispered and pulled her into a hug. He held on until she let go, stepped back a few paces and looked towards baby Theo before disapperating.
"Do you think he's going to see them?" Pandora asked.
"Of course," Cissa responded, "if Regulus knows he's leaving he will want to see the two of them before."
