A Poem A Day

Stand

So, hi! Day two, poem two. I entered this one in a contest where you had to write a poem or an essay inspired by this quote

"Non violence is a weapon of the strong,"
Mahatma Gandhi
I'll let you know if I win the contest, haven't found out yet!

There are things in this world we can't explain
Wars, violence, people slain

We can be better, we all know we can
We can change the world just a step at a time
Let's start with non-violence, let's get up and stand

For what we know is truly right
Let's stand peacefully
Not fight

For if we stand instead of fight
Well all be doing what is truly right

People end things with violence
But what does that do?
Scared people, hurt people, dead people
It's true

In Mahatma Gandhi's words:
"Non violence is a weapon of the strong"
He's right
So get up, rejoice, and sing his song

So stand, don't fight
For what we know is truly right
