(Happiness can never last for you guys. Let me give you all something to fret about <3)
The crew had finished eating by the time you made it back over to them. Smee made Wade and Crawford clean up since they were roughhousing before. Smee smiled as he saw you walking over. "Oh, don't worry about the clean-up. Those two are taking care of things." You nodded and stood next to Smee, looking around as the others dispersed, waiting for them to all be far away enough that they wouldn't be able to hear you.
"Hey... Smee? Are you alright?" The stumpy man gave you a quizzical look. "Alright? What do you mean? Of course I'm alright!" He smiled and walked back to the ship as if to tell you that the conversation was over, but you weren't having it. You followed him and grabbed his arm, stopping him from getting too close to the rest of the crew. You didn't want them to hear you and get worried. "Smee, I remember Peter attacked you. Hook says-"
"Oh, you're still going on about that... t-that, that ginger fool?" Ouch. Harsh words Smee. "Y/N, please, stop worrying about that. He's gone now. There's nothing to worry about." You frowned. He wasn't even letting you finish your sentence, and he made it clear he didn't want to continue the conversation as he walked away. He clearly just wants to ignore it as if everything is okay. You huffed, knowing that he probably wouldn't listen to you anyway. You would just have to figure out some way to help him and Hook on your own if he wasn't going to cooperate.
Somehow, you were going to have to find a way to the mainland so that you could get something to treat Smee and the captain. Otherwise, their injuries would only get worse, and they would likely end up dying. You wouldn't know what to do with yourself if that happened, so you would just make sure things never got to that point. But, the only way back to the mainland that you could think of was with pixie dust.
When was the last time you had even seen Tinker Bell? From what you could remember, she was injured and abandoned by Peter. Maybe she went back to her fairy friends? You didn't really know the layout of this place enough to find Pixie Hollow, especially since you had only seen it one time while you were with Peter, but you figured one of the guys on the ship probably knew how to get there. You looked around at them. Crawford and Garrick were cleaning up after the meal. Wade had been drinking and was flirting with Neil who was also drunk and very annoyed by the other's advances. And Johny was just sitting on a barrel, widdling something with a knife and a piece of wood. You figured he was the least preoccupied, so you walked over to him and got his attention.
"Ah, hey, I have a question." Johny looked up from the chunk of wood he had been carving away at. It didn't look like he was actually making anything out of the wood and was rather just carving for fun. "Yeah?" You thought for a moment. Should you tell him why exactly you want to find the fairies? It would be bad if Smee found out. He would definitely advise against you going to the mainland, especially since he refuses to admit he's even hurt. Well, Johny isn't exactly into drama, so he'd probably keep it to himself.
"Um, I was wondering, do you know how to get to Pixie Hollow?" Johny tilted his head. "Well yeah, why?" He seemed to notice the concerned look on your face. "Is there something going on?" You played with your fingers awkwardly. "Huh? Well, no. I've just never actually seen where the fairies live and I wanted to check it out." He didn't seem like he was buying it, but he stood up from the barrel he had been sitting on and started walking away, motioning for you to follow him. You quickly followed behind him. This seemed to catch Wade's eye since he'd never really seen the two of you hanging out together. He stopped pestering Neil for a moment and shouted at the two of you. "Hey! You two about to make out in the woods or something? You're really gonna leave me out?" This flustered you, but Johny was quick to respond. "Don't be weird. I'm gonna show Y/N around because he's never had a chance to properly and safely explore neverland." He didn't wait for Neil to respond and walked off of the Jolly Roger. You were quick to follow, and the two of you made your way into the dense woods. You began to think that he was really just going to take you to the fairies, no questions asked. That was, until he stopped suddenly.
"You're leaving, aren't you?" You blinked a few times, just staring at Johny's back as he hadn't turned around to look at you. "What?" John turned, a worried look on his face. "The reason you want to find the fairies? You want to leave, right?" You were a bit taken aback. The thought of leaving hadn't even crossed your mind. Well, leaving for good that it. "What? No! That's not... well, it's more complicated than that..." Johny started walking again. "If you want to leave, I won't stop you. It's understandable that you'd want to go home." You huffed as you followed him. "Seriously! It's not like that." He stopped again. "Is it about the captain?"
"Huh?"
Johny looked at you. "The captain. He's hurt, yeah? And he's not getting any better." You were silent. How'd he figure out that it had to do with Hook? "I've seen it happen plenty of times. Someone here get's hurt, they have no way of treating the wound properly, and they inevitably die from the infection. Hook's been looking more and more sick lately, and I'm sure he'll die if he doesn't get some help." So he's had experience with this sort of thing. "I don't want him to die either. But there's a problem. The fairies don't like us. Not one bit. They won't help you if they know you're with us, and considering your history with Peter, if that tinker fairy has gone back to them, they may already not like you."
"So... what exactly am I supposed to do then?" Johny just frowned, not having an answer. "I'll show you where they are at least." He went back to maneuvering through the woods. It took some time, but the two of you eventually came across what looked like an entire civilization of fairies. You kept your distance, not wanting to alert them. You furrowed your brow as you thought to yourself. How could you get some pixie dust? They didn't have to literally give it to you, right? You could just... shake it off of them or something. Well, in order to do that, you'd have to be able to actually catch one. You'd need to come up with a better plan and come back later now that you knew how to get here.
"Well..." Johny spoke softly and stepped away from the fairies. "I'll think of ways to help if I can, but we should head back for now. Don't want to freak the fairies out. Besides, Smee's probably wondering where we've gone by now." He slowly walked away from Pixie Hollow, trying not to make too much noise. You followed, keeping quiet as well. While the smart thing to do would be to come up with a proper plan before jumping into action, you really wanted to do something as soon as possible. The longer you waited, the more likely Captain Hook was to die. You were wringing your hands the whole way back to the ship when Johny suddenly placed his hand on yours, causing you to look up at him. At this point, the two of you were right near the tree line and the ship was just past the few trees. "Hey, take a moment to calm down, ok? Let's not say anything to the other about this. No need in freaking everyone else out. I'm sure everyone is already stressed as it is. I don't know if there's much we can do for the captain, but he seems to enjoy having some company. Maybe just spend some time with him? It won't save him, but it'll put him at ease at least."
You frowned. Johny seemed to have already come to terms with the inevitable death of Hook, but you weren't having it. For now though, you simply nodded your head and the two of you boarded the Jolly Roger.
