Typically, when you first start an Iseaki adventure like this one, you'd expect to go monster hunting as soon as possible right?
That's what I think personally, but somebody in my party seems to think otherwise.
"I absolutely refuse! Do you seriously think I'd be willing to go monster hunting already?! We've barely even been a party!"
She says that, but we've been a party for over 4 days now and have made absolutely no progress. Although I won't say that out loud because that would start more unnecessary conflict.
"Really? I think we could at least hunt some low level monsters, besides what would we even run into? Giant Toads? Balloon Slimes? Killer Rabbits? Come on, I'd really like to do this!"
I feel like arguing with this girl is going to be a consistent problem, but how else will I get my point across?
"Ugh, fine! I won't help unless it is absolutely crucial though!"
Afterwards she seemed to have mumbled something along the lines of 'Persistent Idiot' but I'll ignore that for now.
None of my original guesses were right, probably because I ripped those ideas right from other light novels I read in the past. In fact now I see why Kaede was so scared.
"KYAAAAA!!! STAY AWAAAAYYYYY!!!"
These were wolves, A.K.A a type of dog, which typically is a cat's worst nightmare. Although I guess cat demi-humans can't hiss, so they scream instead.
I shot down a couple wolves with Quick Melt, as these are beginner monsters so they go down very easily, but seeing as I was the one to take down all of the wolves, Kaede gained 0 EXP from this all.
"Sorry for bringing you out here, if I knew that the beginner monsters were wolves I wouldn't have asked you to do this."
"It's alright, this was bound to happen eventually anyways..."
Every single night I pray to the goddess that sent me here in thanks, as I never would've reached such a point of happiness if I hadn't been sent here.
Almost as if my luck temporarily run out for some reason, a wolf had jumped out of a bush and caught Kaede off guard... I don't like where this is going.
"KYAAAAAAA!!!"
almost on queue, she had unleashed a burst of ice around her in a panic, not only freezing the wolf entirely in ice, but also myself. Didn't look like she noticed though, as she immediately shattered the wolf and kept on walking forwards. I'd call to her, but unfortunately I'm currently an art piece for the time being and can't.
I'd say maybe about 3 minutes passed before she noticed I wasn't beside her, and she began running back. Luckily I was able to hold my acid magic out in my hand and speed up the melting process, but only my head was free so far.
"Tch, what the hell are you doing back here-"
She cut herself off mid sentence when she saw the remaining Ice, but seeing as she's got more pride than anything else, she said:
"You shouldn't have been standing in my way when I used my Ice Burst! Jeez, you're hopeless..."
I'm really not in the mood to argue right now so I just let it slide this time. We called it quits about here and headed back to the town.
"So I'm guessing you didn't gain much EXP from that did you?"
"Nope, nothing except for the one I killed closer to the end of our trip."
Just as I thought, increasing my level wouldn't be too difficult, but it's obvious she's uncomfortable taking on these wolf monsters, so I should think of a way around this, but it's getting pretty late.
