3: The challenge

Guy's p.o.v.

Ahhhhh, another beautiful morning! Time to do my morning routine!

I'm finally home and my team has successfully completed yet another mission. I'm going to have to add that to my wins against Kakashi. Oh yeah, speaking of Kakashi, we still have to do the 5000 push-ups and 200 laps around Konoha on our hands! I hope he's ready to go against me!

I go to Lee's house to see if he's ready for some light training to start our day.

He's asleep. :(
I let him sleep, the boy is growing after all, he deserves the sleep.

While going to my usual training spot, I see Kakashi. I wish he was following me...

Kakashi's p.o.v.

Did he notice I was following him?!

Guy's p.o.v.

"Kakashi! My rival! Ready to do the challenge? I am sure to win! Also, my team and I have finished another mission very successfully and I know missions don't count, but, we did it very successfully. Sooooo, what do you think, do I get a point?"

"I was following not around, I swear!"

Did he lose his ability to speak while I was gone? Or... wait a minute... did he actually mean what he said? I wanted him to follow me! Not a random guy!

"Who's Not? Is it a new friend? Why haven't I met him? Hold on just a second! Why were you following him? Were you spying on him, Kakashi? You should know that's kind of rude!" Unless you're following me, then it's not rude at all, I give you my consent.

Silence... does he regret following Not or does he regret not telling me who his new friend Not is or... another thing...? Why is he looking at me like that? With that adorable face?

"Why are you looking at me like that and why aren't you answering me? Are you ok?"

"Sorry, yes, I'm ok. Not is no one though" he sais while laughing "I just got my words messed up because I'm still a little sleepy. And I was just thinking about something, it's not important."

I chuckle. "Kakashi, I know what you were thinking about"

"You do?" He asks with a scared voice, like he had seen a ghost or worse.

"Yeah. It's ok to be nervous about our little competition, I'll let you do 4500 push-ups instead, don't worry."

He sighed in relief. I didn't know that less 500 push-ups would help him so much!

"Oh uhmm, thank you." Kakashi said.

"Should we start going to the training grounds?" I asked still a little confused about what he was really thinking about.

"Yeah" he answers while I grab his hand and lead him to the nearest training ground.

After we ran a little to warm up, we did our challenge. I won of course! Although, Kakashi seemed distracted by something and he was also looking at me a lot. Why is that?

"Hey, Kakashi, is everything ok? You seem very distracted?"

"Yeah... you know what? I was thinking, do you want to maybe have dinner at my house?"

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my godddd.

"To discuss the future of our teams, of course."

Oh, right.

"That seems very productive, so yes, I would like that."

We say our goodbyes and go home. I was happier than ever, Kakashi finally invited me to go to his house. There's something that I never told anyone: I don't go after the challenges, I go after Kakashi and the reason behind that is... I've had a crush on him since forever.
