Jake had become a regular at the Café Dulcis.

It started with small stops every Monday morning for his vanilla latte. Then it turned into him spending a good two hours there every day and letting his brain rot from his physics modules in the cosy little shop.

Having been going there for two months now, Jake had begun to get closer with the staff. Sunoo, of course, was consistently there to greet him.

The two had become good friends by now. Conversations would begin with Sunoo pouting over Jake's dishevelled and weary appearance. Then he would order five different things on his behalf and drag him to the best spot in the café.

By now, daily scoldings from Sunoo were part of his schedule.

Another person he had been talking with was Heeseung. The older male was a lively and humorous guy to be about.

They started to properly talk when Jake overheard the male singing. He had approached him from behind to request for some straws but instead was welcomed by a charming voice murmuring the lyrics to 'i'm so tired' by Lauv.

As soon as the waiter noticed his presence, Jake was gushing over his voice and singing skills. Cue the birth of their friendship.

Having two new friends in town made Jake feel a little lighter, it felt good to talk to more people.

Oh and of course...

As much as Jake desired to disregard it, part of his excitement when he went to the café was due to a certain icy-haired male.

Park Sunghoon had attained a new admirer, to say the least.

The two had never interacted after the second time Jake had visited, but that didn't mean Jake didn't see him. When he waited for his coffee on a lazy Sunday afternoon, he would watch as Sunghoon carefully blended a frappuccino.

He would watch when Sunghoon revealed one of his rare toothy smiles when he talked to Sunoo (he nearly deleted his English project the first time he saw it).

Trying to count the number of times Jake had almost dropped or choked on his coffee when Sunghoon came near him was impossible.

It was downright embarrassing. Jake was behaving like a teenager. Memories of him gazing at Shirley Smith, the school's cutest girl back in Australia, resurfaced.

The jitters in his stomach, when he walked to the cafe, reminded him of when he had to do a group project with Jayden Hall, his class president in the 9th grade.
