P.O.V: Hamlet, Castle Bed Room

I sat quietly at the desk in my room. Horatio was by my side, quiet. it was all quiet. and yet Horatio was there, guarding me in some way. as if a dread had fallen not only on me from my fathers passing. I could see it with Horatio. he came from his collage, his high honors just to soothe me from not only Denmark's loss, but from my own loss of my father.

but how could the people care? they got a new king. which I should've been grateful for... a new king, a new family member, a new father. except... my mother, the queen.. she married so- quickly. and to my uncle?? her ex brother-in-law? how could no one see any wrong in that?? but I guess Horatio saw wrong in me. because he broke the silence for us

"My Lord, is there something wrong?" he had asked me softly in a warming voice like that of a concerned dad. but I only shook my head.

"just my father. his loss.. it troubles me." I responded as I looked down in my lap. Horatio put a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"of course, My Lord. I stayed because I knew you might've been that way." I looked to him. he was smiling. not in a mocking way. in a still comforting way.

"and your studies?" I raised an eye brow "they will continue when I get back. for now, My Lord- I am here in your honor." he let go and gave me a light pat on the back, standing up straight again.

I chuckled quietly, turning back to look at the surface of my desk. well, I wasn't alone at least. someone was there for me. someone I knew I could trust with my everything.

perhaps Rosencrantz and Guildenstern could be the same way. I do have similar feelings to them. besides, they are my childhood friend's.

so that makes 3 people I can trust with everything? I know Horatio is a loyal man. one that is true to his word, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are easy to detect when they are lying. they don't keep a secret as well as Horatio does.

and speaking of secret...

"so.. I have heard you've been seeing the fair and noble Ophelia, My Lord?" Horatio said in a teasing yet questioning tone. I could hear the smile in his voice.

"Horatio, my good friend- where has one picked up such wind so fast?" I smiled, and I knew he could hear it in my voice too.

"you are the Prince of Denmark, My Lord. word of such things are doomed to spread." Horatio looked at me. I looked back.

we both started laughing "yes, she is most wonderful-" I said with a wide smile as we stopped laughing.

"yes, a noble woman as I have said. I hope she has treat you well, My Lord." he said as he turned back in a sorts of a guarding stance. he had always looked after me, it was nice.

"do not worry of me, dear Horatio. for I am well with Ophelia. her brother not so, but as long as we have each other." I assured him. for a second I thought I had saw him frown. as if he was disappointed.

"Well, My Lord." Horatio said as he gained back his smile and posture.

I smiled and turned back "I will meet with Laertes tonight to discuss our issues. it has been a while since I have been with Ophelia, though you have now just gotten word of it. I request you do not be with me when I discuss the matter."

I could see Horatio half bow from my peripheral "Understood, My Lord." he spoke softly.

I smiled again "Thank you, Dear Horatio."

I could see him half bow again. Thank god for a right hand man...
