Katrina couldn't believe Tarion talked to them like that. He did not get angry with them often, but what he said undoubtedly hurt her feelings. It was almost like a spirit took over his body so he could say those things. She wanted to talk this over with him, but he ignored her entirely and disappeared out of sight. The dark brunette wished to help him more than anything, but she had no urge to run after him after the way he acted towards them. She understood that Tarion wanted to remember, but did he have to overreact about them thinking about trying to get spots on the Ice Storm?
Being on the ship sounded like it could be a fantastic experience, but the more she thought about it, the more she started to have doubts. What if Tarion was right? What if that opportunity was ridiculous? Katrina didn't even want to think about when the ship would depart, and if they didn't find all they needed to help Tarion remember if they got chosen. She felt like Uttune, the Goddess of life and death, sent an angel from The Promised Land and a devil from The Eternal Damnation to her shoulders so they could give her their thoughts on what she should do with the angel giving wisdom while the devil gave folly.
Katrina rubbed her eyes with her index finger and thumb, and as she did, Eugene sighed. "I'll talk to Tarion," he reassured the dark brunette. "I was not expecting that."
"That makes two of us," Katrina replied, feeling dejected. She then heavily sighed. "I'm going to take a walk in town... See you tomorrow after I volunteer at the greenhouses?"
Katrina would volunteer at the greenhouses to help nourish the plants whenever they didn't have classes, and she enjoyed volunteering very much. It was hard work tending to the plants, but she felt like she had been doing a good deed. Plants were like the lifeline of the seven kingdoms, and whenever she took a bite out of a fruit or vegetable, she felt like a second wind came over her. What's more, every plant was beautiful to look at with them being full of life with their vibrant colors. The greenhouses were also a way to free her from the dauntless winter, and whenever she went inside one of the greenhouses, it felt like she was taunting the snow.
"Yeah, see you then," Eugene said as his farewell.
Katrina nodded, and she started to make her way to Stathmore. She needed to clear her head, but after she had walked around town, she wasn't sure what she would do next. All she knew was that she just wanted to be alone at that moment.
