~3 years later~

I woke up to see haymitch sleeping soundly next to me. It's so nice to see him sleeping so soundly every morning. I never would've thought that this would be my future. To be laying in bed next to Haymitch Abernathy, with my dog max at the foot of it.

Shortly after me and haymitch became officially a couple. I moved in. Haymitch was, of course, ecstatic at my decision. He was a little grumpy about all of the things I had. All of my dresses and my shoes and all my sheet music for my violin. After the games i chose the violin as my talent and i composed my own music. Haymitch loves to listen to me play and see how my face contorts in concentration. He thinks it's cute because i scrunch my nose slightly when I'm concentrated.

Haymitch's eyes flutter open and I'm met with his loving gaze. "Good morning sweet heart." He says in a gruff morning voice. "Good morning love" i say. We are now downstairs in the kitchen. I'm drinking some coffee and haymitch is drinking his usual alcohol. "I have something special planned for today sweetheart!" He says in a joyous tone. "Oh yeah? Like what?" You ask him in a playful voice. " Well it's a surprise. Just for you. It's very special. I have a feeling your going to love it!" He says. I give a smile and take another sip of my coffee.

Hours later after I've played the violin some and done some cleaning. Haymitch whisks me out the door and into the seam. Particularly, to the meadow. It's my favorite place in the seam as it is quiet and beautiful. I like to pick the wild flowers that grow there.

We sit down and haymitch pulls out my favorite muffins from the bakery. We sit for a while and talk and then he tells me to stay there and he goes into the hole of a tree and pulls out a black leather violin case, he walks up to me and opens it  revealing a beautiful deep brown violin. Much better then my old one I've had since a child. "Haymitch i-" i stutter out and try to explain how grateful i am but i can't. He gives me a kiss and puts the violin beside me. Then he does the unthinkable.

He kneels down and begins pouring his heart out to me. "(Y/n), you mean the world to me. I never would've thought that someone like you would come into my life and make it so much better. I don't know how I'll ever be able to repay you for how much you've done for me. But i did think of one way to repay you, and this better be enough or else I'm gonna be in your dept for the rest of my life." As he says this he pulls out a velvet box and opens it. "Will you marry me?" He opens the tiny box with a trembling smile on his face. I can't believe what I'm seeing. I smile as i start crying. "Yes haymitch! Yes oh my God, yes!" I scream as he embraces me. He picks me up and twirls me around and is laughing and smiling and crying right along with me.

After our short celebration, he slips the beautiful emerald ring on my finger and we stroll through the seam back home. Back to our home.

As we get to the village. He stops and grabs me by my waist and holds the back of my head and dips me down in to a kiss. I giggle at the sudden but sweet gesture. He sets me back up right and hugs me tightly. "I love you so much" he says into my shoulder. "I love you too haymitch. I love you more then you could ever know." You whisper. And then you both walk home and have some very fun night activities and drift off into blissful sleep. Knowing that someday soon, we will both share the last name.
