a/n: i listened to this song on repeat while writing this, hope you enjoy!! i guess the lyrics kind of fit with the chapter and the mood ^^

"jay hyunggg! help me!" jungwon wailed from the kitchen. "i burnt the vegetables..."

ni-ki walked out of sunoo's room, rubbing his eyes blearily. 

other than the fact that they'd be performing "go big or go home" later on in the day, it was an ordinary day for the group of boys.

in spite of this, the members seemed to be relaxing.

heeseung was gaming and listening to music.

jake and sunghoon were playing a card game.

finally, across the room, sunoo was practicing "go big or go home".

ni-ki smiled to himself, and pride warmed his heart. sunoo looked so cute dancing in his oversized sweatshirt. he's so adorable. 

jay, running towards the kitchen, called out to ni-ki. 

"hey, the maknae's awake!"

sunoo immediately turned around and met ni-ki's gaze.

why did butterflies suddenly explode in his stomach? he shook away the feeling and trudged over, sunoo gazing at him gently.

"let's dance together, huh, sunoo?" he suggested brightly.

sunoo nodded, a smile stretching across his face. ni-ki played the song again, and they danced in sync.

halfway through the song, jake and sunghoon finished their card game and joined them.

however, sunghoon decided to stretch out his arms and tickle sunoo while he danced, causing him to collapse into squeals of laughter.

"yah! sunghoon hyung- you'd better stop!" he choked out in between laughs.

and something about that made ni-ki really, really annoyed. his breath hitched, and he impulsively pushed sunghoon away, confronting him.

"can't you see that sunoo and i are busy?" he snapped, clenching his fists, unable to stop the unmistakable jealousy from surfacing.

don't be mean, ni-ki... he reminded himself, letting out a soft sigh.

taken aback, sunghoon just backed away and stared at him, confusion evident in his eyes.

"i... don't mind at all, really..." suddenly, sunoo's timid voice spoke up.

hearing this, ni-ki felt anger rush through him, and he closed his eyes, trying to calm his pounding heart. he knew he was being unreasonable, only because he was jealous.

but he couldn't, for some reason. he found it so hard to control his emotions. 

fixating his glare onto sunoo, he hissed, "since when did you side with sunghoon instead of me? is it that you like him more than me?"

sunoo flinched, obvious hurt in his wide eyes. 

"who says i do?" he fired back, his voice suddenly cold.

seeing sunoo so upset hurt ni-ki, it really did. he could feel the sudden tension in the room, and the small prick of pain in his heart.

but he tried not to care. 

it surprised him how fast their mood could change, and within only a few moments they could be so cold towards each other.

and as he stared deep into sunoo's watering eyes, he wanted to just apologise, but his pride was holding him back.
