CHAPTER 3

THE NEXT DAY

BEOMGYU's POV
It's either I'm dreaming or I'm actually seeing Jongho carry a 4 layered cake with a load full of candles on it. They were whispering loudly. "What are you guys doing?" They all look at me, Seonghwa scoffs "See, y'all were too loud." Mingi takes the cake from Jongho and brings it in front of my face.

"Happy birthday." I take the cake from his hands but blow the candles, "Thanks." I reveal my dimple. San comes in the room with plates and utensils with Hongjoong following behind. The guys looks at me. "What's wrong? Don't like the surprise?" I shake my head, "I appreciate it yeah but.. I don't know how old I am."

The room was silent, but Hongjoong clicks his tongue shortly after.

"You're twenty." I widened my eyes "I am twenty?!" Wooyoung wriggles his eyebrows "You can technically drink now." Yeosang scoffs "That's twenty-one, idiot." Wooyoung rolls his eyes. "I mean, do you really care Beomgyu?" ATEEZ looks at me. Before I can answer, a buzzer goes off.

"I'll get it." Yunho stands up, San gags "That's our doorbell? Ew." I turn to watch Yunho open the door. My eyes light up as I see Soobin, Yeonjun and Taehyun.

"Happy Birthday!" They say once they see me, I pout. "Where's Huening Kai?"  Their faces drop as they look at each other, they look at me after.

"Right, we need to discuss about that." What happened?

HYESANG's POV
"HAN HYESANG!" I run downstairs after I hear my brother's screeching voice. "What?" He points at the oven. I widened my eyes, I forgot that I was baking a cake. "You're about to set our house on fire, that's what!" He opens the oven as he airs out the smoke. He coughs nastily, "Both you and Beomgyu can't bake for anything." I try to hide in my laugh as I watch him fighting the smoke. The door bell rings, I run to open the door. It's Bang Chan, Felix, Changbin, Seungmin with Hyunjin and Yeji.

"Hey guys!" I greet them all, "What's that smell?" Hyunjin asks, "I accidentally burnt a cake." They all begin to laugh. Jisung peeks his head beside the wall, "Thank god! Reinforcements! Felix, help!" Felix jogs to the kitchen to help Jisung, the rest of the guys walk around the house. I check on Jisung, "Is there anything I should do?" He looks at me flabbergasted "There's a lot you could do! Go to the store and get more ingredients for the cake." He looks at Hyunjin and Yeji, "You two, stay for decorations."

Yeji leans over to me, "Your brother is serious about this isn't he?" Jisung cuts me off before I could respond "Chop Chop! The party starts in a few hours!" We spread out hurriedly.

BEOMGYU's POV
The four of us stand in front of Huening Kai's house. Taehyun knocks on the door, and the door opens shortly revealing Huening Kai's older sister, Lea.

"You guys made it, come inside." I gulp.

I look around the house, the first thing I noticed was how cold it was. "Huening Kai is upstairs, he hasn't came out of his room for days." Soobin is the one who walks first, but I'm behind him. Every light in the hallway was off, I became more worried.

Soobin stops in front of Huening Kai's room and signals me to open the door. I knock on the door, "Huening Kai?" No answer. I look at Soobin, but he signals me again. "I'm coming inside!" I open the door slowly. His room was dark, much more colder than downstairs. I look around, "Huening Kai..?" I sense footsteps coming behind me, I turn around to see a black figure. I flinch as I fall on the floor, It was Huening Kai.
