The Millionaires Mistake

Chap. 1

Christopher:

"Good morning Mr. King." Said the lady at the front desk.
"Good morning Kim." Christopher said as he nodded his head toward her. You could see her cheeks turn slightly red as Chris looks at her.
I hoped in my Mercedes as I was heading toward my work place. But just before as I reach my job I stop at local corner store I used to go as a kid. When I approach the door this fine young lady walks in front of me distracting me as we make eye contact.
"Hello." I say in my deep husky voice to catch her attention.
"Good morning." She tells me with her soft voice.
We started talking for a little right before I got the chance to her name and number to call her this afternoon.
"Goodbye Jennifer!"
"Goodbye!"
We said our goodbyes as the conversation ended. I headed toward the register as I told the guy "the regular!"
"No problem" says Juan as we started making conversation.
"How's it going kid at your fathers job?"
"It's alright, you know."
"I know kiddo you tell me this all the time even though I ask it everyday." He says with a chuckle.
"Have you started finding a lady to settle down with, or not yet?"
"I've really haven't been in the mood for lady searching. But when the time is right I hope I do find the one."
"Don't sweat it kid. You will one day. It takes time to find the "perfect one". Just like how I found my women. Oh I can just remember it."
I start to laugh as he tells me about his wife in a funny story about how they met. The conversation ended shortly but I was in a race to get to work before my dad notices that I'm running late.
As I approach my Mercedes I get a phone call from my dad
I pick it up and an angry voice speaks.
"Hello"
"Christopher do you not know what time your supposed to be here? YOUR LATE!"
"Dad it's only 8:45 work doesn't start until 9.
"Christopher I know this already. I told everyone yesterday to be here early for the important meeting we need to discuss and your not even here."
"Dad I'm on my way now. Calm down"
Christopher ended the call. When he put the keys in the ignition, Coffee by Miguel was playing in the car from his aux cord. Chris started singing along.
As soon as he pulled into the parking spot reserved just for him, he took his things and raced for the door. When he entered the building, everyone greeted him. He rushed to the elevator and reached the top floor.
His dad saw him and told him to hurry up.
"I'm here! I'm here! Sorry I was late. I didn't know that we had to be here earlier."
"Okay so now that your here, you can sit down and we need to discuss something's."
Chris takes a seat next to a girl he didn't even know.
"Hey." He whispered to her.
"Are you paying attention to what your father is telling?"
She says with a sassy tone.
"Rude." He said under his breath.
"Mrs. Castillo come up here to give the paper work I told you to fax."
"Coming sir." She says as she stood and walked toward his dad.
Chris starter playing with his pen, by biting the cap.
"Mr.King! Come up here please." His father said with a angry tone.
"Okay." Chris stood up and walked toward his father.

The meeting ended and everyone exited the room.
"So what's your name? I didn't quite get it."
"My name is Ariana stupid." She said with a giggle.
"I'm not stupid. I was just asking a simple question." He said with a grin.
"But anyway I haven't seen you here before." Chris said.
Her faced went to an confused expression.
"Are you serious! You see me like everyday!"
"Oh I really don't pay attention to people at all. Sorry, did I a fend you. I'm sorry gosh."
"Your such a dick." She said as she gathered her stuff.
