Working in a mental asylum is worse than how people describe it to be. My name's Vincent, I don't do as much as other workers. I just distribute medication to our patients. I feel bad for certain patients, like the ones that have just gone completely insane due to terrible tragedies that occurred in the past. Then there are those who are heartless and vicious killing machines. The sad part is, they have no idea how bad of a condition they really are in, not even knowing what they are doing, or why.
A few days ago, we had a patient "33092" and we had to do a very inhumane thing. I don't enjoy speaking of it, but I will anyways. After attempting to try and give him his normal medication, he refused. Then I had to inform the security guards. He lost it. Jumping, trying to grab the throats of the guards. I had to stop him, before it got worse, injecting him with a serum I don't know much about. He stiffened and that was the end of him. I'm not proud of what I had to do.
Walking through the halls of this asylum is a nightmare in itself. Great big walls, white with no sign of color. Every day you hear the insane laughter, the screams, the groans, crying, and other dreadful sounds. I feel pity and sorrow for our inmates, but I still have to remember that they are mentally insane and unstable for the outside world.
My job is to go to each room and give out medication, this is a very dangerous job, even though it my not seem like it. If I mix up any medication or forget about a certain inmate, I could make the biggest mistake. Either killing a patient, or making them more mad than they already are. I say this, because I've done it before.
"Vincent!" I heard my boss (who I absolutely hate) yell at me, once again.
"Yes sir?" I replied
"I need a favor from you, and you're not going to like it." He said with a devilish grin.
He has told me about these sort of things before, but the things he asked, weren't as bad as he said. I waited for him to finish.
"I need you to start shock treatment for the patient in room A-9, do it no matter what. Alright?" He requested.
No. I can't. This isn't right.
"You sure sir?"
He gave me a serious face, then nodded. It had to be done.
This was a bad idea. It means I could be the person responsible for hurting, or even killing a patient. My boss doesn't care if he kills an inmate, he thinks all our patients are incurable, and he has started illegal treatments.
He also left out a very important part. The patient in A-9, is a 10 year old little boy.
