Kageyama One Shots

Headcanons

1. kuroo is a dog person. I don't care if this is supposed to be Kageyama, I believe that kuroo is a dog person and when they find out, Nekoma is like "i-. we are the cats. " 

2. Kageyama is observant, on and off-court. you don't just lose your skills as soon as you get off the court. he's dense, yes but like he can read a. room. he just doesn't know how to use that room reading knowledge. 

3. he's the first one to figure out other people's crushes and expose (internally) the secret relationships. after a while, once he reached 2nd and third year, and improved his social skills,  he became the person that people come to whenever they are questioning themselves sexuality wise as well as other peoples feeling on them. they go to him cause they know for a fact that he will be honest. 

4. he has trust and abandonment issues. because of middle school stuff, he is in constant fear that karasuno will abandon him. his new team have worked to prove him wrong. 

5. his parents are neglectful. this is more or less cannon though it wasn't given much attention. according to google, he is shown in some of the panels to come home to an empty pristine home, his parents being at work. we know that he was more or less raised by his grandpa and the only other family member he has is Miwa, with whom he has an 8 or so year difference straining their relationship. 

6. speaking of Miwa, they have a pretty bad relationship. As previously stated they have an 8-year difference and volleyball was one of the few things that kept them close, only for Miwa to stop volleyball probably ruining their relationship further. and we can infer that due to her being in college, other than attending the funeral, she hadn't had the time to properly check on tobio before she had to leave again. 

7. now this is just me, but I refuse to believe that tsukishima and Kageyama were able to hate each other for that long. like it's possible but I refuse to believe it. so by at least early on in their 2nd year, King just became a sweet nickname, as opposed to an insult. and this is just something I saw in another fic on ao3 but at some point into 2nd year, Kageyama started to call tsukishima Kishi in response, meaning knight in shining armour in kanji. 

8.  Kageyama is a demiromantic asexual. no evidence for the asexual bit but I think that he may have been bi or pan before but after the king of the court thing, he found that he felt differently. it felt like it was all of a sudden less common for him to feel any romantic feelings for anyone as he didn't have as many friends then. IDK. I have no idea what it feels like to be demiromantic or asexual as I've never really had a crush or anything but that might just be because I haven't found my person. 

9. I care not for cannon, he, akaashi and kenma become best friends. I don't care if you say no. three-setters. pretty setters. the founders of the pretty setters. 

10. you realise he drinks more than milk. he only really has it during break and stuff. the fandom thinks that it's the only thing he eats/drinks. plus yoghurt and stuff too. 

11. he actually has the cutest smile. it's so small tho and so people used to say stuff like "o my god you should smile bigger and more. ur smile is ugly" and stuff so he started to make his smile bigger. people would call that one scary and ultimately he stopped smiling. that was until his like 3rd year when this adorable 1st year managed to make him laugh. 

12. when he got vice-captain he was shocked. like shocked. he had a miny panic attack cause he was scared of what would happen and if he would become the king of the court again. Yachi managed to calm him and it was never spoken of since. 

13. Kageyama is the designated driver 

14. he is a pastry chef. tsukishima will never admit it but his pastries are absolutely divine. luckily the king knows his knights' preferences so whenever he makes them he manages to subtly slip a couple into tsukishimas bento, normally taking something and replacing it with whatever he had brought that day. and then after the blond had finished the pastry he would ever so subtly slip back in whatever he had taken. 

15.  he plays the guitar as it makes him feel grounded In a way. he's also a pretty good painter and has mentioned off-handledly that if he were to quit volleyball for some reason he would probably go for painting. 

16.  platonic kageyachi. nothing more nothing less. platonic kageyachi...

17. platonic kyoukage. nothing more nothing less. platonic kyoukage...

18.  he's the type to hold it in till he breaks. people don't realise this since he always seems angry it's rare that he is truly, truly angry and when he is a silent calm storm. you just never know when he's going to snap. 

19.  he has a knitted crow plushie that was gifted to him by akaashi that he uses and sleeps with everyday. 

20. no one is born a genius. t takes sheer hard work which kaheyama puts into volleyball for him to be this good. stop calling him a genius.
