The Bonfire

I went deep in the forest in hopes of finding Nino and Itsuki. After Yotsuba scared them, they ended up running away in the dark forest, the route they took would lead them to the big cliff.

It was too dark to see anything, so I used my sense of hearing to help find the two of them. After a while, I heard a noise that sounded like someone fell over, I ran towards it and encountered Nino.

It looks like she tripped and fell over, spraining her ankle in the process. Today was a bad day to be Nino, I almost felt sorry for her. She was as hopeless as ever, it was basically written all over her face. Hopefully discovering that I came to save her will get rid of her sadness.

"You okay?"

"Seriously! It's you!?"

Immediately I was hit with a disappointed Nino.

"Who else did you want to be here?"

"I thought you were my sister, someone that I was actually hoping to see."

"I could leave if that's what you want?" I said while turning around.

"N-No! Since your already here, P-Please help me."

I read this somewhere, I think they call these types of people, Tsunderes?

"Sure. For starters can you stand up and walk? If not I'm going to have to carry you back."

"There's no way that's happening! I can walk perfectly fin- Ow!"

Nino fell over again after trying to act like she was okay.

"Clearly not. Stop being stubborn and let me carry you."

"N-No! Your going to use this chance too get your gross hands on me. So I ref-"

I decided to pick Nino up anyways in a princess carry.

"Huh!? I just said No!"

"Relax. You said you were worried about my hands, Now in this position I can't use my hands to touch you anywhere or else you'll fall."

"...I guess you have point...it's just embarrassing being like this..."

Huh?

Nino was acting like an innocent girl.

"You should act like this all the time, it's cute."

"Wha! D-Don't say stuff like that so easily!" She said while hitting my chest with her hands.

"Anyways I'm taking you back so you could rest."

"What about itsuki?"

"Yotsuba is also looking. I'm sure she'll find her in no time."

I began walking back the way I came from. I avoided looking at Nino directly, I didn't want another misunderstanding happening.

"...Thanks by the way..."

"Your thanking me?" I said sarcastically.

"Shut up!"

She went silent for a while but started talking again.

"I just felt really scared back there, so I was kinda glad that you found me."

Her true feelings were spilling out.

"No worries. You would've done the same for me, right?"

"...Im not sure."

"At least try to lie about it."

Nino started to laugh and after a light conversation back and forth we arrived back at the camp.

I took Nino to the Nurses Office and laid her on the bed.
