I'm back! This chapter is probably going to be on the shorter side but I wanted to try and get back to updating semi-regularly. The way I have the fic panning out currently in my head is that there should only be a couple more chapters til the end! Let me know what you think in the comments and if you have any ideas on what might happen!

Olivia's POV

*Earlier before Bucky got home*

"I just need to grab enough stuff for me to live out of a suitcase for a few days, Val and then I can try to either come back either when he's gone to get the rest or have Steve ferry some stuff to me. Just, help me grab the essentials, please" I asked, a small pout forming on my lips as I thought about all that had gone down.

Val rubbed her hand soothingly up and down my back, showing me she was there and that she would do whatever I needed. "Are you sure you want to do this, sweetheart? I don't think Barnes meant what he said, I think he may have been pushed to say tha..."

"You don't know Bucky, Val. He wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it," I interrupted, tears beginning to well in my eyes for the umpteenth time that night, "my bathroom is the second door on the right, if you could just start gathering some stuff that would be great," I managed to whisper as I went to start packing. After gathering as much as I could stuff into a suitcase I was ready to go.
On the way back to Val's hotel she allowed me to cry on her shoulder. The stress and anger of the night coming to a head as I thought about the fact that I had essentially began the process of packing up the life I had created in the city with my best friend.

"What are your next plans? I know I told you that you could stay with me but I'm only in town for a few more days. Where will you go after that?" Val questioned softly after we had made it to her hotel room.

"I don't know..." I whispered softly into the blanket I was using to cradle my head and muffle my cries, "I think I can find another apartment but I won't be able to do that immediately, that will take a little time. I could probably call Natasha or Tony and see if I could stay with them for a few days until I get the apartment situation all figured out..," I trailed off, trying to decide which of my friends to burden with my presence after ruining their weekend.

"Hey sweets, you don't need to figure that out right now. You can do that later. Do you want me to let anyone know where you're at though so they don't freak out when you're not at home?" she asked with a raise of her brow.

I nodded my head slightly and slid her my phone, "Can you text Stevie please? He's in my phone under Dorito."

Val couldn't contain her laughter at that. "While I would love to hear the story of how Steve won the nickname "Dorito" I kind of need to know your password to get into your phone, Miss 'I-Refuse-To-Move-My-Head-Out-From-Under-The-Blankets," she teased.

"0310," I mumbled the four digit code as quietly as I could into the blanket.

"I'm sorry, missed that say it again but a little louder this time please," Val continued with the same teasing tone.

"My passcode is 0310, Val." I said finally lifting my head from under the den of blankets, a light pink blush spreading across my cheeks.

"Sweets why are you blushing about your passcode? It's just four numbers...unless they have a special meaning...do they have a special meaning? Tell me tell me tell meeeeeeee," Val begged, still keeping up the slightly teasing tone.

"It's Bucky's birthday," I managed to grit out, yet another wave of tears threatening to break.

"Oh babygirl, I didn't mean to push. I wouldn't have if I had known," she stated softly, her hand returning to its place rubbing circles on my back, "you've been down bad for this man for a while huh," she added with a small smile causing me to push her away with a slight scoff. When I didn't answer her question she returned to my phone, texting something to Steve I'm sure, and turned it off. Turning to me she asked, "Okay, so now that that's done, why don't you tell me the story of how Steve's name became Dorito in your phone huh?"
