I stared at both of these insanely insane members for a second, and gripped the rope in my hands tighter.

"Hell no."

The white haired one, rolls his eyes for the billionth time. Red eyes sighs. No names yet. I look at the bridge, the cliff, the car, and regret taking a nap. The ride was too long, and small talk was off the table the moment I even tried to get to know either of them.

I didn't really complain.

"Until the road turned dusty and the view by the window were twisted black trees, I was a bit scared again. I'll admit. But this!?"

I motion to the cliff edge and the wooden old bridge that swayed slightly in the wind of what looked like a football field long of NOPE. My fear of heights is heart thumping panic inducing fear, to put it lightly.

"This makes me want to cry." I mumble, shivering from the cold. The ground was nearly black with moist soil, and it was eerily quiet. Dry plants and rotting wood scattered around, after you get through the forest, of course.

I look down again, not letting go of the steel peg on its concrete island, and my mouth runs dry as I see a black abyss specked with gray rock. The mist really doesn't help.

"Look, you either go or we force you, this really isn't that problematic. You can't die anymore. And even if you do fall you'll fall fast enough that your life won't even flash-"

"-What he means, is that we'll catch you. Its stable though, just meant to look like the doorway to hell to scare off kids and the like." Red eyes cuts off his white haired friend, slapping him on the back in a form of cutting him off.

"You'll catch me. Okay. Its fine. I'll just take a step. One step is okay right? Right-" I shift my weight on foot to foot on the concrete stump and put my foot on the wooden plank, holding myself when the bridge moves and wind suddenly swoops down on me.

"NOT OKAY OHMYGOD." I try to move back. I can't. I hear a sigh behind me as one of them seemed to have blocked my way. I internally picture the white haired kid behind me falling off like a feather, his blood floating.

"Just go already!" He shoves me, and I dig my heel into the spacing of two planks. He grabs me by the waist and pushes me forward none the less and I actually scream because suddenly a plank breaks and I nearly get pushed through.

I turn myself around and grab onto him, my eyes shut tightly as I curse his entire generation.

I'm hoisted up over someone's shoulder and I don't really care but I still cover my eyes because I can't deal with this."

We stop. He turns and the wind seems harsher but I hear a "Okay, open your eyes." The sounds of moving planks fade.

A gloved hand covers my vision but I still see the abyss and no rope, and I scream because the fear of falling hits me harder then ever.

"Hey! Not funny she could freak out and you could drop her. Keep going."

I hear a snicker and a subtle "You're the one who promised to catch her, not me so not my problem."

I hit his back, feeling like crying and again after a few moments, he says I should open my eyes. I refuse.

I hear a grumble and I'm dropped onto a dusty ground but I'm still a bit shaken. "If I open my eyes and this is another joke I'm summoning whatever freaky power I have now and hanging you over the bridge by your organs!" I hiss as I slowly open my eyes and see that yes, we are safely away from the dancing bridge.

I sigh over the slight laugh they both let out and get up, turning around. I stop pattug down my dress and nearly choke on my own spit at how-....diffrent, it is.

The land pools down, steps circling the pit of life. Everything looks like white marble, and there's houses look like small villages built into the swoop of the rocks. People fly above on board of all shapes and sizes, or just jump up and dive back down.

They seem to scrape the sky along with a tall building that has a sudden flat expansion for a roof, and my eyes widen when I see distant people fighting on top. At the center there's a huge crevice, shaped into a perfect rectangle and my eyes widen as.I see an elevator come up with a mass of people pouring out. I look down to the steps in front of me, just taking it all in. There's tiny writing, National defense against gloom repeated engraved in gold.

This, wasn't what I expected.

"Okay, now here comes the worst part. Walk with me-oh, and meet you later at the ranking, Seanon-er, Sean." Red eyes said, waving behind to the very rude white haired boy, Sean.

"Yeah later Aaron."
Aaron. Hebrew, meaning enlightened. Seanon, almost sounding like seanan, meaning gift from god.

I turned as we descended the steps, and I waved. He surprisingly gave me a small smile and brought his attention back to his call, and turned away just as I did.

"So," began Aaron and all his Hebrew glory, "From that building I want you to expect a physical and mental examination. You will get a badge with a number and for the last time have a chance to get a tattoo or piercing, before you're fully infected after fourth eight hours. Otherwise after they heal over and the like. Your rights and classes will be signed over to you depending on the results. I want to make it clear that you're no long-"

"-er human. Yeah. I know."

"Yes well, we can't have you forgetting that you're going to be treated differently. Humans just aren't accepting."
