The moral battle and cereal bowls

I had the usual bright morning that day. Everything felt like a melody used to help children do chores, and my yellow jumpsuit felt a bit out of place, so I wore a black tank-top even if it would be a bit hot that day. I yawn, and turn on the news on my old television in my shabby living room.

The sun keeps rising as I keep eating, attempting to clean my white boots from black scuffs on the front with an old t-shirt and bleach. I switch between chocolate cereal spoon fulls and slightly forceful scrubbing, turning myself around in my chair to hear the tv better. "Good morning sector seventeen, we bring you a special announcment from sector nineteen, The Abandoned!"

I hum, and begin to zip on my boots, staring at the black wooden dining table, standing up with my bowl in hand. I slide it from my side of the counter into the sink, turning off the kitchen light under the cupboard and picked up my keys while shutting the tv off.

---------------------------------

"Brangwen, youre late!" Mr.Galler barked at me as I ran. I slowed to a stop, panting with a small sigh. "Sorry sir but I lost my transport badge in the laundry and usually I just jump on last minute bu-"

"Ah, just shut up and help out as usual kid. Don't worry about it." I stared at him, then nodded and jogged away into the garage-like structure filled with boys from pre-teens to some-what more mature, heavy lifting type.

I walk past them, giving happy Hello's and Hey's here and there.

I was worried, though. Sector seventeen is too close to us for comfort. It was only abandoned because the dome for that sector was too weak, and everyone was turned into those...things.

"Hey Elysia, what's wrong?"

I pat the bench I was sitting at now, my eyes fixed on the TV and give a quiet reply.

"Sector seventeen stuff is on."

Jordan turned and told everyone to shut up, making then join us and huddle around the television to hear over the shushing and quiet whispers of everyone.

The news ladies- Mary and Rebecca- sat down at their desks once the exclusive clip was done, making me slightly bothered that I didn't get to see it.

"Well Mary, what do you think?"

"Well....damn. I mean first off, not only is-was- this sector most known for their day care centers and beauty goods, it also was where the seventh team of NDAG began to riot and refuse to fight for us unless we begin to treat them fairly....this disaster was just too much of a loss."

"Right, right... I have to agree with you there. I always feel bad for all of the NDAG kids who basically get treated like utter ( BLEEP) because they are infected. I mean, its not like they asked for this. I'm honestly somewhat surprised they haven't flipped the table before, you know?" Mary sighed and chuckled slightly. She always seems to pity the defense members.

"Yeah I feel ya, especially with how hard it must be to suppress the urges of being half...monster, and still being human in a way. Well, not a human but....a person."

"Exactly. That's why I completely support them building a school for NDAG members, and by what the exclusive shows, they'll have apartments and houses built underground! Talk about a proper home now!"

"Ohhh yes yes yes, and the shops will cater from equipment to all of the food that most suppress their beasty blood. Although many NDAG members already did so with Heavens crumble and Hells ladder, with good reason considering what a grand arena it is. Speaking of which Mary, what have we found out about the Gloom monsters and how these things affect NDAG members?"
