Love.
Such a strong word.
Hate.
Something even stronger.
They say there's a thin line between love and hate,
It doesn't feel like it sometimes though.
For myself,
I can't figure out if I'm swimming.
Swimming in self-love.
Swimming in self-hate.
I think I'm doing the best for myself,
But instead, I'm doing the worst.
Not eating so I can be one of those models.
Wearing makeup so I can blend in.
Saying things I shouldn't say.
All just to fit in.
The world is a scary place,
And there are expectations set.
For the ladies:
Not too revealing,
But there's not enough skin if you wear sweatsuits.
You're wearing too much makeup,
But you're ugly without it
You're so skinny,
But you eat too much.
For the men:
It's good you work out often,
But you're getting too buff.
You work in business,
But you don't make enough money.
You have had multiple girlfriends,
So, you're a womanizer.
Society.
The community in which we live in.
Sets expectations that are impossible to reach.
I Hate society for what it brought to us today,
But I Love society for the it sometimes brings us into other small communities.
But
I learned that it doesn't matter.
You don't need to look like those models.
All that matters is that you are yourself.
If someone doesn't like you for who you are
Then they shouldn't surround themselves with you.
That's the most important thing to learn
