you

you said you were there for me

you said you were coming

but

you didn't

instead

you left

you broke the last pieces of my torn heart

you ignored my presence

and you didn't remember me

you broke me

you went out with him

even though we told you to be careful

you said you loved him

that you'd want to be with him forever

it's been years

you changed

you grew up

you got prettier

your hair got longer

your lips more luscious

you broke up with him

you came looking for me for comfort

but i wasn't there

the girl you loved

the girl you ditched for the popularity

but you found me

i love you

and i thought i'd never get to tell you that

but now you're here

crying in my arms

but it's more than i could ask for

you said you regret getting with him

you just wanted to be loved

you thought that he could give it to you
he used you

he abused you

you said he would be different

   

but he's just the same

same as before

same as tomorrow

same as he will always be

you

you did a good thing

he hurt you

you left him

but now it's been a week

you say you love me

i cant tell if you really mean it

does anyone ever mean it

i thought i could find a new person to love

it was too hard

i was too hung up over you

you were in my mind

you

i love you

and for as long as i can remember

it was always you

my choice was you

you were my everything
