Third person POV
Lian had been sitting in his garden spacing off and daydreaming for about an hour now. But who could blame him? Who would want to be stuck in a world of boring people and nothingness when in our minds, there is so much magic, so many fantasies, and so many more mystical things to be discovered? Lian never saw the point in being perfect, but that's what he was made to be. He couldn't even awaken his own family's element. Who was he to talk about what he could and couldn't do? "Lian?" A sweet, monotonized voice called from in front of him. Lian looked up, only to see one of his older brothers. He smiled sadly. "Hey Lance." He sighed, looking at the ground beneath him once again. "So, what happened this time?" Lance asked, walking over and sitting next to Lian. Lian scoffed. "The usual. how, I'm "not trying hard enough" and the "focus more!" and then there's the "it has to work! restart!" " Lian said, rolling his eyes.
Lance laughed. "Wow, old man's really pushing your buttons this time around, isn't he?" Lance asked with a soft smile, his light blue hair playing in the wind, dancing with Lians own black locks. "Yeah, I'm afraid that if he keeps hitting me with that rolled up magazine, I'm going to end up with a concussion." Lian laughed, picking a small daisy and twirling it around in his hands.
"Probably. Do you know why he has it in for you so bad?" Lance asked, looking at Lian from the side of his eye. "I WISH! It would save me a lot more time then running around trying to figure out what imaginary thing i did this time to make him angry." Lian said, exasperated. "Hmm...that does sound troubling." Lance said as he watched his little brother lean against the black brink wall behind them. Suddenly, an idea sparked. "Lian, why don't you just train with me?" Lance asked with a smile. "Do you really think Devon would let me?" Lian asked excitedly. "Who cares? I'm the one who wants to train you." Lance said sitting up. "C'mon, we have a lot to do and little time before mom and dad get home." he said, reaching his hand to Lian to help him off the ground. "Right." Lian smiled.

Lians POV
"Now, don't think about it so much, okay? Just feel the calmness of the water and embraces it." Lance said softly. I nodded, closing my eyes and feeling the water rush over me. A cold feeling erupted in my body and flowed through me. It was freezing cold but soothing at the same time. "Now once you feel like you are calm enough, try to allow the connection to form. There is no set time for this to happen, it takes time." Lance whispered, running his hand through my hair. I hummed. The cold feeling intensifying the longer I sat in the running river. "I'm ready." I said to my brother. Although, it was barely audible over the water falling over the edge of the cliff. "Okay, now relax completely, and work with the water instead of against it." he said. I took a deep breath in and exhaled, completely calming my body, mind, and muscles. Then, I leaned back into the cold fresh, flowing spring river water, letting only my nose stay above it. all I could hear was the water rushing past my ears. I knew my brother was still beside me and would pull me out if he noticed anything unsafe or weird.
I let myself fall deeper into relaxation and move my arms from beside my body slowly. I feel the water surround them and I take another deep breath. I uncross my legs and the cold surrounds them as well. Soon, there were no thoughts in my head. and then I heard it. "Lian..." It called. At first, I froze. "It is okay, do not fear my little one..." She sang. I took another deep breath when I realized who this was. Water Nimeth...? I questioned in thought. I heard a faint laugh with a hum to fallow. "It is my dear. What family are you from little one? You certainly have a very strong mindset to be able to communicate with me directly." She said softly, her voice echoing throughout the water surrounding me. I'm Lian Blackwell. I introduce myself. "A Blackwell? Talking to me? My child...you are strong indeed..." What do you mean? My father said that everybody in the family has talked to you. I spoke to her confused. Father refused to except that I haven't even been able to reverse a dripping sink fossette yet. "Oh? and who told you such things." She asked me. My father... "Did he now? Well, let me tell you, this is the first time in 200 years a Blackwell has talked to me. even longer since anyone else has." She spoke. So, my father. lied? I asked. "That he did dear. But that is beside the point. I believe I know what you are here for. So, raise your arm out of the water." She instructed carefully. I nodded and rose my hand out of the water. It felt as though there were 100-pound weights holding just my left arm down. "Now, repeat after me." She began but I stopped her. I can't speak. I'm actually underwater.
She hummed. "You have been this whole-time child. your body might be in my river, but you are in my home." She spoke warmingly. W-what? I ask. But I can't see anything. "Because you are not quite ready to." "Now, repeat after me. Mizu ga yure, Mizu ga waki agari, sono ba de watashi no te niyotte meiji ra re mashi ta uchigawa kara sotogawa he, watashi wa ima anata ni meirei suru." she spoke in a different language. I nodded. I repeated the words, and I felt my hand go numb. I then came shooting up out of the water with Lance shaking my shoulders, smiling brightly. "Lian! you did it!" Lance yelled in awe. "I did? What did I do?" I ask, whipping my eyes. "Water burst out of your hand like a volcano!" he said, giving me a towel when I stood up.
"Really? wow..." I said, panting, rubbing myself warm. "I actually got worried I thought you died for a second." Lance chuckled nervously. I laughed. so did I..
