Nearly six months later, you had seen very little of what the public was calling "Superboy."
Bruce had come. He had brought his son, Damian, and Damian's girlfriend, Lorri. Lorri was super sweet, and you two stayed up the nights she was over just plain gossiping. They also brought this giant ass dog named Titus, who wasn't overly affectionate with you, but he didn't protest when you started to cuddle with him. Even since then, you've given Lorri a call here and there. She had given you a permanent invitation to join the Titans, which often lingered in your mind. She really like you. It felt nice to have a friend.
That was forever ago.
Clark's body was long since missing, and it pissed you off. He had a right to Rest In Peace. Somehow, you had linked the corpse's disappearance with the new Supermen, or more specifically, with Superboy. Luthor had probably stolen the body and was using it to make more of his clones.
But without evidence, you didn't have a warrant. And without a warrant, you were stuck. You were counting down the days until Luthor invited you back into his personal lab with all his 'projects', but you knew the odds were slim.
Until he just showed up one day.
You were chillin' in your apartment, reading, until a draft made you shiver. You turned to close the living room balcony doors.
It would be dark soon. Almost time to start patrol.
There. You could sense them. Two people in your house. At the kitchen table. Right behind you.
You whipped around, using your telekinesis to rip a knife out of the knife block and aim it right at Luthor's head.
Luthor. Speak of the devil, and he will appear.
"How the hell did you get in here?" You asked, letting the knife clatter to the floor. Lex visibly relaxed.
"Him." He uttered, straitening his tie.
"Sorry..." a voice whimpered.
"Superboy." You spat a greeting. "First verbal assault, and know breaking and entering?"
The boy looked down, genuinely humiliated and ashamed. He held his glasses in his hand, and he looked like he was about cry.
"Sorry." He said again.
You softened your posture. Had you hurt him that badly?
"What do you want, Lex?"
Luthor grinned. "We just stopped by to personally invite you to our Grand Unveiling of Metropolis' New Superman."
You rolled your eyes. "That kid? Superman? He's too young. He can't handle the physical or mental abuse this city gives." You leaned in close to Lex, the fact that Superboy had super hearing escaped you. "Does he even have a name, you douche bag?"
Lex straitened his tie again. "I expect to see you there, Miss Dragonlilly." He stood, making his way to your door, and Superboy began to follow behind.
"Stay for a moment, friend." You spat with venom. Superboy stopped dead in his tracks.
Lex gave a groan. "Make it quick." He exited your apartment, and shut the door behind him.
Superboy looked down at his feet, sunglasses in hand.
"Well, this sure is a change from the flirtatious douche who saved a woman and her children."
"I- -"
"Thank you." You smiled warmly. "Looking back on it, I fear I and Green Lantern would have been too late."
