Amy ran until she had reached the door leading to the boys change rooms. She debated in her head whether to run in or wait but eventually she came to the realization that rugby wasn't happening now meaning no one but Nick should be inside. In result, Amy rushed in to see her friend slouched over on the benches. He looked and realized who it was before dropping his head back down and standing up with an annoyed look on his face. Amy got in front of him to stop him from leaving. "No." She ordered. He stepped to the side but so did she. He tried to push her out of the way but she only kept running in front of him. "I'm not leaving." She stood her ground. "You need to understand."
"Me? Understand? I think I understand, Amy."
"No, you don't. Let me explain."
"I don't need your explanation. Get out."
"No."
"Get out, Amy."
"I said no!"
"Leave!"
"Just listen to me!"
Nick rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, waiting for what he thought was a lame excuse.
"Yes, I was with him."
"Wow."
"Listen! I only got with him after our fight from two years ago. I got with him for two weeks because I felt lonely without you there to comfort me and be with me. Yes, I used him and then I realized that and I ditched him. I never told you cause I wanted to forget about him!" Amy explained, hoping he would understand.
"Wow, thanks Amy." Nick replied, sarcastically.
"You're not listening! It's true!"
"Sure."
"No! It is!"
"I'm leaving."
"You can't."
"I can, actually."
"You won't."
"I will." Nick shoved past her but she grabbed his arm.
"You're not understanding!" She cried with water in her eyes.
"Me? Not understanding? Me?! I understand plenty, Amy. It's you who doesn't understand why what you did was wrong."
"No, I know it was wrong."
"You clearly don't or else you would have told me."
"I did! Right now I just did."
"Oh, wow, thanks." He rolled his eyes again before yanking his arm back and beginning to leave but he was stopped short when a certain somebody walked in. Nick was forced to walk back and stand beside Amy as the individual walked in.
"Look who it is." Harry smirked with two of his followers behind him. "These two lovebirds look like they're having a moment." Harry quickly gripped his phone and snapped a picture. "I thought you were gay, Nick Nelson."
"You're wrong. I'm bisexual."
"Oh, my bad." Harry laughed. "You're weird. That's what you are."
"Go away, Harry." Amy mumbled, looking to the floor and crossing her arms.
"Is Princess upset? Oh no." He laughed.
"Just leave." Nick ordered.
"Are you the principal? Didn't think so. Now let's just tell your boyfriend that you're cheating on him, shall we?"
"Harry, stop." Nick sighed.
"Stop what? I think you two should stop seeing each other behind Chocolate's back. Oh, woops, too late."
"His name is Charlie." Nick said through gritted teeth. "Now leave."
"I will. Oh Charlie!" Harry shouted as he exited the building. In nervousness of losing his boyfriend, Nick ran out the change rooms and leaped onto Harry, bringing them to the ground. "Get off!" Nick took the time to grab Harry's phone, stand up and throw it far enough to land in a fountain.
"You little snake!" Harry shrieked as he got back up on two feet. He punched Nick who pushed him and soon there was a crowd. Some people cheered for Harry. Some cheered for Nick. Some, as in only Amy and Charlie, seemed to care for Nick's safety and tried pulling him out but he'd fight back with Harry. It was good for Nick to be doing this because this way he was able to unleash all his anger and hopefully come out fine but Harry not as much. Sadly, this is not what happened. As Charlie tried to pull his boyfriend out, he got punched in the process. Nick got defensive and punched Harry in the nose before rushing to his boyfriend's side, picking him up and bringing them in. Amy followed but ashamed. It felt like her fault. If she hadn't gone in, Harry wouldn't have threatened to tell everyone in the school that Amy and Nick were together, which they weren't.In the nurse's office, Charlie, Nick and Amy stayed. The nurse, who was really kind, said that even though Anya and Nick hadn't been injured, they could still stay as company for Charlie as he healed. Charlie never dared to even try and fight the pain when the ice wasn't on his nose. Amy had been pacing back and forth, bitting her nails in nerves for Charlie's safety. Nick was crouching down in front of Charlie, comforting him while Charlie held a pack of ice on what might be a broken nose but the tests hadn't come back yet. As in tests, x-rays.
"Amy," Charlie groaned with his eyes closed. "Stop pacing."
She abruptly stopped. "Sorry."
"How are you feeling?" Nick asked his boyfriend.
"Fine." Charlie groaned again in pain.
"Try lying down." Nick helped Charlie to lay down on the bed instead of sitting before walking up to Amy and pulling her into a corner, whispering. "About earlier," he began.
"I'm sorry." Amy interrupted. "I shouldn't have walked in like I did. This is my fault."
Nick sighed. "It's no one's fault but I would really appreciate it if you told me what happened with that Archie dude a couple years ago because I'm not understanding."
"Yes, of course." Amy said, relieved he was no longer mad. "Remember two years ago when we had that fight?"
"Yeah..."
"Well, when we didn't talk to each other for three weeks, I felt lonely without your company so thinking I could have that feeling of warmth again, I met Archie and we started dating. Turns out, he was just a big jerk and I didn't feel part of the relationship. I realized that maybe I was just using him, hoping to get the bond you and I share. Yeah... that never happened. I ditched him two weeks later, tried to forget about him, forgot about him and then we texted back and forth and we became friends again."
"And you didn't it tell me why?"
"Because I think I was afraid. Afraid you would, I don't know, get mad. Or something. I was trying to erase him from my memory and I knew that if I told you about him, you'd freak. I didn't want my young teenage years to be filled with 'do you remember when you got with Archie when we had a fight?' 'Do you remember this with Archie?' I didn't want that so... I blocked him. From my life."
But when Amy was done telling her story, it wasn't Nick who replied.
"I can hear you, ya know."
