The trees weren't particularly pretty this time of year. Early March was the time in between when the memorizing white snow of winter had just melted away in the warming sun and when the cherry blossoms bloomed. It was dull, nothing stimulating the eyes, which was why Shota Aizawa liked it the most. Shota would spend most of his free time indoors, catching up on sleep or drinking sleep substitutes (espresso upon espresso). But not in early March, no. Shota sat outside then, alone at a park bench typically, allowing his eyes to look at something dull for once.

It was where he sat now.

Shota leaned back, settling into the bench quite nicely. In one of his hands, he held a cup of coffee and the other was in the pocket of his hot-pink sweats (don't judge, he's on his break), which kept both his hands toasty in the bitter breeze. He observed the park he was in. Not too many people: six adults, three children, and two seniors. Easy to evacuate. The park is wide open, not too much damage to be done and plenty of room to maneuver around. Why did Shota causally look at locations and automatically create a plan of action?

Well, he was a Pro Hero, of course.

He may not look like it, but Shota was one of the best. Not many people knew about him, but the underground world tensed at the mere mention of his name. The Erasure Hero: Eraserhead! Shota could throw off a villain's whole fighting style with just one look. Literally, he could render people quirkless for as long as he could keep his eyes on them. But at that moment, Shota was just Shota. Just a normal citizen, sitting on a park bench with carbon fiber and a special metal alloy capture weapon wrapped around his neck.

Shota gulped down the rest of his coffee, relishing the way its warmth ran down his throat. It was peaceful in a way that was almost good to be true. Shota knew that he needed to take breaks every now and again, so he did, but when he felt the buzzing of his cellphone in his pocket his reluctance to answer was truly feigned.

"Hello, is this Eraserhead?" A chipper voice blared out Shota's phone, which caused him to promptly lower the volume.

"Yes."

"Great, I'm Neji Wada. I'm calling on behalf of the Hero Commission."

"Okay," Shota had an idea where this was going.

"Well, they feel that your skill set would fit—"

"Just tell me the assignment," Shota interrupted the person's rhythm gruffly.

"Right. Well, I'm sure you're aware of the rumors flying around about a quirk-enhancing drug hitting the streets. It's commonly referred to as Trigger. It originated in the U.S. and has managed to make its way to Japan." Shota had heard about a few incidents of villains using the drug. But he had never dealt with it himself. "The Commission is looking to eliminate any trace of Trigger before it's distributed on a larger scale."

"Sure, but what are you looking for me to do?"

"The Commission has gotten a tip on who, and where, is producing Trigger here in Japan. Your assignment is to apprehend all parties involved and confiscate the drug along with any data about its production, preferably all in tact."

"Who gave you the tip?"

There was a beat of silence, "A reliable source."

"Who else have you assigned on this?"

"The Commission decided that this situation would be best executed as a one-man type of job."

"You want me to break into a drug manufacturing plant and arrest everyone there with no backup.

"Trigger hasn't become a major problem yet. Making a big scene with a whole team of Pros would only cause unnecessary panic. The Commission thinks that keeping this case away from the public eye would be best. You were chosen for your high level of stealth and lack of widespread reputation. A mission in the dark should be completed by a hero who's familiar with the shadows. We're counting on you." Something about this didn't sit right in his gut, Shota felt this nagging sensation of cation and suspicion. However, there were people to be saved and potential catastrophes to prevent; ultimately, Shota knew that he wouldn't refuse a mission like this even if it was insane on paper. "So, will you do it, Eraserhead?"

"...Send me the file."

Once the call ended, Shota slumped back against the bench. He looked down and his coffee cup was empty; he racked a hand through his stark black hair with a sigh that didn't relieve the tension in his chest. Shota felt the vibration of his phone in his hand (he received the file via an app that directly connects registered Pros to The Hero Commission and other forms of authority). He skimmed through the data.

There were lots of general reports, but nothing detailed enough to make Shota feel secure. There was a blueprint of the building, which most likely came from The Commission's "reliable source". However, he quickly noticed that the blueprint dated back much farther than he would have liked. He had a general understanding of this production site with the document. In terms of security or guarding that must have been put in place, though, he was totally blind.

There was no way he could pull this off quietly without a man on the inside, and Shota wasn't sure how possible it would be to make that man himself. Overall, Shota didn't have a plan or where to even start, but he'd pull this off.

Somehow, some way.
