Brooklyn
This place would be the death of me, and I was being completely serious. I clipped another layer of my hair up so I could curl the layer underneath while I listened to Damon, my master, and his guys set up for the party tonight. Damon's parents went out of town two days ago and he couldn't wait to tear up their gigantic house with drugs and alcohol and people from the Uni he went to. He told me that if I didn't look nice tonight, I'd have to pay.. And I knew what that meant. I wasn't prepared for his punishment; I never was. I cringed at the thought of what would go on tonight. Sometimes I wanted to just run away. Well, actually, that's how I felt everyday. But where would I go? I had no clue...
"Brooklyn!?" Damon's sharp voice interrupted my thoughts, startling me and causing me to lose control of the curling iron, burning myself. "Fuck, dammit." I spat under my breath. "Brookie?" "Right here!" Tears swelled in my eyes as my finger sizzled from the burn. "Brooke," I looked up to see Damon walk in the bathroom, his eyes dark. "You alright?" I just nodded, biting my bottom lip viciously. "Yep." He quirked his brow, "You sure?" Sitting down on the counter and taking my hand in between his, he studied the red mark, that was still burning like crazy, then looked up at me. "Burn yourself?" "Y-you scared m-me, so I jumped and it f-fell out of my hand. I tried to catch it, that's h-how it happened..." "Sh, sh... It's ok. I'm not mad," I felt myself relax a little bit after those words came out of his mouth. "We'll just put makeup over it or something. I still want my doll to be perfect." He smiled his wide smile and reached over, gently brushing a curl back behind my ear. "Damon, I don't think makeup will last very long on my finger..." I stated quietly, not meeting his gaze. He just looked at me, his eyes dark. Fear brought a lump to my throat as I continued to avoid his eyes. "Well," Damon cleared his throat and stood up, heading toward the door. "I'm sure you can figure something out." And with that he left.
I groaned, placing my face in my hands. I hated it here... I hated it so much. I hated him.-
Eying myself, I nervously bit my bottom lip. My long brunette hair curled in tight ringlets that rested neatly across my shoulders and down my back, grazing my ass. I looked at the big hazel eyes staring back at me and tried to find some life inside of them. Nothing... Absolutely nothing. I didn't even know who I was anymore.
Running my hands over the soft pink dress Damon had bought for me, I tried to gather myself together and head downstairs where I heard people were arriving at the door. Time to go back to pretending...-
"Brooke, darling, mind fetching me some more to drink?" Damon gave me a fake smile to get the approval of the guys surrounding him. His whole game of 'us' being something actually sickened me. But I had to go along with it, the results for misbehaving were miserable, and I couldn't take that anymore. I finally just gave in.
Putting on the best genuine face I could muster, I touched his arm, giving him a small smile as I looked up. "Of course, babe." Pecking his cheek, I walked away, hearing the 'oohs' coming from the group of guys beside him.
Approaching the bar where people were lingering around and helping themselves to whatever they wanted, I finally was able to get through the crowd to get Damon his favorite drink, only to ram into a rock solid body as I turned the corner. "Shit!" I yelped as I collapsed on top of something, hitting my head on the hard wood floor. When I opened my eyes, what I least expected was awaiting me; a pair of dark brown eyes gazed at into mine, a strange twinkle visible in them that I couldn't explain...
