HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED what being kidnapped must feel like? Well, Maeve Larson didn't have to wonder.
Due to some "special abilities" that she had, she had been taken by the Hawkins Laboratory (who didn't have a sense of hospitality) at the young age of six for experimentation and whatnot. She spent years over there, hating every second of it. The only thing that brought her any happiness for a while was the thought of getting out, and when she did, the first few days went exactly how she hoped it would.
That was until her brother, Edwin, caught her using her powers. And he began freaking out, hard; which wasn't helping since one of his best friends, Will Byers, a mere boy of twelve, went missing and the last people to see him were Edwin and his friends.
Maeve found herself more involved than she had first anticipated when she learnt that one of her mates from the lab had also escaped just like she had, and she ended up falling right back into the hole of extreme mayhem.
And adding to all of that, she had just begun to find one of the "cool kids" at school good-looking, which was really the last thing she needed at a time like that. And Steve Harrington was just adding fuel to fire by getting somewhat involved in the case of the missing boy.
Oh and one last thing— the more you look, the less you actually see.
