That incident was still fresh in her mind. She thought about how they had once again become close friends, how they started going out and how a year ago Cliff proposed, and how they planned the wedding and how they were married, she thought about it all as they drove back home, staring at her engagement ring. As they arrived back home, Lyric noticed that the sun had still not set. It was high in the sky, indicating early evening. As soon as they got out of the car, Lyric's phone rang. She picked it up. "Hello?" Lyric's expression turned to worried and she said a quick goodbye to Cliff and drove to her workplace. Enif had called her to inform her about how someone had jeopardized their lasers and there was a Trojan Horse in their system.
"What, how?"
"It has to be a work of an insider. The headquarters have sent their best team to see what they can do, but the person is already too deep in and is modifying our important data."
"Who do you think did this?"
"I have no idea, but it is someone from our team. From inside. I have sent Carol investigating and confronting everyone on team, but it has to be someone who has the passwords and everything."
"It could be a mistake! Someone might've downloaded some file from internet and it could have a virus in it."
"Oh, Lyric you are so naïve. Why would anyone download anything in this system? I hope you know that that computer is only used for storing classified information. It has all information about the system. And there are some things in it that are better hidden from public. If the media gets hold of it, there would be a Trojan War. And I mean it. The data is very precious and important and highly classified. It has all details about every single undercover mission and everything. And it is all happening right when this Mrs. Anonymous chapter opened. I hope you know that Trojan Horses are her speciality. Someone here is working for her and we need to find out who." His eyes narrowed. "Lyric, what if she herself is working here?" Lyric gulped in fear. She couldn't be here. No, Lyric definitely would've identified her, had she set an eye on her. Those blond hair were painted in her head, she would've identified them straightaway. Hair-dye? Possible but still, too risky. Working in a laboratory, once drop of the wrong chemical on her hair, and the hair dye could give in right away.
"You are overthinking. She couldn't be here. It's too risky. Besides, even if she was, she would've left some sort of clue or something. Let's calm down and go and help Carol with the interrogations, alright?"
"'Kay," they climbed upstairs to where Carol was. Carol was the assistant of Enif and was new there. She had a kind nature and honey blonde hair that twisted into curls at the end. She had a pretty face, her skin was white like snow, her lips were pink and she looked pretty tired.
"So, Caroline, how is it going?"
"No lead. We are searching who last logged in the file before the Trojan Horse came into effect but it could be there for a long time and we might not have ever realized so, no results on that search. Lyric, I haven't interrogated you yet, right?" Lyric shook her head. "Come in then, in here!" Caroline led her to the interrogation room. It was a short interrogation. Caroline was skilled, she knew what kind of questions to ask. Lyric tried to stay confident but with Carol's hard eyes piercing her, it was very tuff. She was out in like five minutes. She and Carol were close so Carol didn't bother her that much, she just asked necessary questions. She then told the guards to escort Bellora. "How-how was it?" Bellora asked. Bellora was very shy and she got scared a lot. She had straight brown hair and brown eyes. She usually stuttered with fear and shyness and liked to be alone. "I mean was it scary? What-what does she do? I-I heard it's frightening!"
"It's not scary, honestly. It's like, she asks some questions and you have answer them and that's it!"
"So there are no torture methods?"
"Jeez, no! Who told you there were?"
"I just thought, I was scared you know. Just thought maybe."
"Nah, there's no need to feel scared. She's quiet gentle so need to freak out."
"Sure?"
"Absolutely!" she left muttering under her breath. She came back from interrogation about ten minutes later shaking with low confidence. "How did it go?"
"It was okay, I guess. I was super scared, like what will happen but then-" a new girl came over running with some chemical in a beaker and crashed into Bellora and the chemical fell all over Bellora's hair. "Ah!" she shouted.
"Oh, I am so sorry. I just came to give this to Jake and I am so sorry, I was in a hurry!"
"What chemical was it?"
"Don't worry it was just Hydrogen Peroxide, won't harm your hair."
"Do you have a towel or something?"
"I'll go get one." She left with that. Lyric and Bellora waited for few mintues for that girl before Lyric noticed something. Brown colour was dripping off Bellora's hair.
"Oh, Bellora, did you apply hair dye, it's coming off actually!"
"WHAT!" Lyric saw utter shock and fear display on Bellora's face. Something was wrong. Bellora's teeth started chattering, and Lyric saw her check exits. Bellora took a head-start for the nearest one at her left btu Lyric caught her in middle and pulled her back. Heads turned in their direction as Bellora groaned. Enif came towards them and so did the girl who had spilled Hydrogen Peroxide over Bellora's hair.
"What happened?" Enif asked.
"The towel, wipe her hair with it and some water." Lyric commanded the girl. She did as told. And brown colour came down with water and Hydrogen Peroxide, making the floor wet and slippery. As the girl dried Bellora's hair with the towel, they caught sight of blond hair. Straight blonde hair. The same type Lyric had seen that day 2 years ago.
"Bellora?" Lyric exclaimed blankly and Bellora took advantage of her shock. Bellora flipped her over, courtesy of their training and ran for the exit. Carol, who had just come out of the interrogation room, ran to follow Bellora on first instinct. Had it not been for the hydrogen peroxide and water dripping from Bellora's hair on the floor, Carol would've caught up with Bellora but she slipped and fell. Some other officers ran out to catch Bellora while Enif stayed back and helped Lyric up.
"You okay?" he asked her.
"I-I am fine." She could hear the weakness in her voice. She could feel pain surge through her body from her old bullet wounds.
"Lyric, your stitches have opened." Enif pointed out worriedly.
Yo people! How have you been?? Well, I have been super stressed this whole week, it's kind of hectic you know, my schedule, but I got a bit of time today so I updated, I know, I know, I am probably the slowest at updating and I know what you are thinking, how can she have the whole story complete yet take 6 days to update, but to be honest, I am not slow it just slips my mind, you know, with other junk occupying my head like Met Gala and oh, Katy Perry looked so stressed, and I am just kidding, I found about it a few hours ago only, well, there is nearly no junk, most of it is imp stuff, you know, tutions, homework, swimming, singing and well, writing, and hey would you look how long I made this sentence? Phew, finally came to an end. I just wanted to see how much nonsense I can write in one sentence though I think if I had written utter nonsense I could've written more words.
Anyway, I'll update soon and do let me know how excited you are for WHO-2!!
