"Get up!" my dad's voice breaks me from my dream, the peacefulness leaving when I realize Sapnap isn't next to me. The man had stayed over the night before, his body not in my bed immediately ruins my morning.
My blanket has long fallen to the floor, the cool air wandering in from the window, goosebumps creeping onto my skin. One of Sapnap's sweatshirts is lying on my floor, the white fabric calling my name. His cologne still trails on it, the scent calling me back to bed.
"Hey dad?" I call out, the man appearing in my doorway seconds later.
"Yeah? What's up?" his eyebags are more prominent than usual, hair a mess.
"Where's Sap?" I grunt, still sad the brunette is nowhere to be found.
"He had to go," he answers quickly, shutting my door, footsteps leading back to his room.
Confusion washes over me; I grab my phone to call the man.
No answer.
I call again.
No answer.
A third time.
"Hello?" his voice comes through the line.
"Sap? Are you okay?" relief mixed with a tad of anger fills my stomach.
"Yeah, fine. I can't really talk right now, okay?" his voice is low, nearly a whisper.
"Sapnap please talk to me, is something wrong?," the morning is already killing me, his tone making me even sadder.
"I'm sorry, I really have to go, I'll see you later, okay?" he doesn't wait for a response, the line cutting off.
My phone hits my bed, picked up seconds later when I realize who to call.
"Dream?" I hear the line pick up, "Have you heard from Sap?"
"Oh hey," his voice is thick with sleep, "Uh, yeah, he called me at like two AM last night," I can hear rustling from the other end.
"Well?" I prompt him to continue.
"Uh, not sure why you called me," his voice is stoic.
"What, Dream? Can you talk to me?" I am nearly in a plea.
"Look, just you might want to give him a few days before you ask," he sounds less welcoming than usual.
I can hear George's voice in the background asking various questions.
"Dream? Can you give the phone to your boyfriend?" I hold back tears, the day already having a bad outlook.
"His name is George," Dream's tone is low.
"What? Dream? What the fuck, I was just making a joke," anxiety is pooling in my throat and stomach, my head pounding.
"Yeah, whatever, here he is," Dream sounds equally as upset as Sapnap did on the phone.
"Hello?" the brunette's voice calms me slightly, "Are you okay?"
"No, not really," my throat hitches, "I don't know what's going on, Dream is mad at me, Sapnap won't talk to me, what did I do?" my legs are shaking, breath not coming to my lungs.
"Hold on, just gimme a second," George's calm nature has me slightly relieved. I can tell he's walking around, Dream's voice calling for him.
"George?" I ask when I hear the blonde's voice.
"Dream, shut up, okay?" his voice is far away from the phone. A door shuts in the background, the brunette speaking into the phone now, "Hey, can I ask you something?"
