She had no idea of where she was heading, although her life was moving, she knew she was moving.
Everything in her little world seemed dark to her, she could barely even identify herself. It has been like this for her for quite a while now.
She wished for something or even someone that could brighten this abyss of night that she has fallen into.
She wishes that she could be the light herself, but that is not an easy task.
Sometimes, she would dream, when her eyes closed at night in a deep slumber, her eyes would see miraj of light and happiness in the far distance only for it to disappear when her shaking small hands finally got close enough to touch it.
' Was it running away from me or was I in the wrong direction? ' She would wonder when she woke up in her bed in the morning.
She wishes she could help herself, she wishes she could change herself, she wishes she could just unlearn everything that was forced on her.
She wished to be someone, who was not in infinite war with herself.
She wishes she knew a way to be that person who is happy and at peace with herself.
Her name is Eliza Morgan. A defeated young woman with a terrible past, who was neglected by her own blood family. Was she too cruel to think that? Or is she just another ungrateful youth.
That's what she has been feeling since she had developed consciousness, not enough.
Never enough to be beloved by her own parents, never enough to be included in a group chat, never enough to maintain a friendship.
A defeated sigh left her mouth, her thoughts were too dark today, perhaps because she had an argument with her mother last night. She didn't even remember what the argument was about, in her heart she knew if she could fix everything she would have done it long ago.
She also has a sister, a year older than her, she was nothing like her, she was smart, outgoing and an extrovert. Her grades have always been better than that of Eliza's, she was happy. She wasn't insecure like her little sister.
In her previous school it wasn't as hard as it was at her home, despite being shy and less talkative she managed to have a decent friend group.
However, they had treated her with indifference, she felt like she was an outcast, she felt like they didn't want her to be around them. They didn't want to listen to what she had wanted to say, sometimes she would feel like they only allowed her to be their friend out of pity.
It wasn't their fault, not entirely. It might not even be real and could entirely be the fault of her restless mind.
She left them all behind, not that she had any other choice, she and her family were moving to another town. A town named Rosehills.
It felt so cold, her heart and mind felt frozen. Or maybe it was just cold winter breezes violating her.
"Eliza, what are you thinking? " Her older sister Alana asked from beside her.
"Nothing, why ?"
" We are here at our new home. Come on, let's go inside," she said while getting out of the car.
She got out of the car herself, looking around in a haze, her new house was in the middle of nowhere, the forest surrounding the whole land seemed dark.
It looked scary yet comforting.
The house seemed old, too old. She didn't know why anyone would leave modern, well-established and safe life, to come and live somewhere like this.
They all got inside. Luckily she got her own room while was right across from Alana.
It was good, in her old house they had to share a room. It was hell for Eliza, she hated when Alana's boyfriend would sneak in or when she would come home late after partying.
She didn't have anything against any of it, she was just jealous, it always reminded her of how much she could have had if she wasn't herself.
Unpacking things and cleaning up her room almost took her the entire day.
It was now dark outside.
One thing she loved about this house was that her room had a balcony, due that her room was comparatively small and faced the back of the house. That was the reason why alana didn't choose this room and let her take it without any argument.
Her previous accommodation was in the middle of the city, this was something entirely different and new to her.
She liked this one more. This darkness was more comforting than the city lights.
She could feel the moisture in the air, she wondered how thick the show layers would be this year, she wondered how beautiful the forest would look, covered in white flames.
This place is beautiful. She thought to herself.
Who would have guessed that she would like it here? She was too anxious when her parents told her about moving to another town.
It hasn't even been a day and she felt attached to this place. This place reflected something to her . This place was cold, filled with darkness and loneliness. Maybe that's why she likes this place. It resembles her in an odd way.
The sad part was she can't sit and stay here forever. Tomorrow she will have to go out, socialize, find a new job, go to school, and keep up with her parent's and society's expectations.
But at least at night, she will be able to sit here again and connect with something.Don't forget to like and comment.
