"Babe wake up." Vinnie said softly, kissing her cheeks and forehead softly.
"What's going on?" Aaliyah sat up, dazed and extremely sleepy.
"It's morning time my love. Jordan had a meeting so that means you get me today." Vinnie said, pulling her body into his.
She smiled and wrapped her legs around his waist, clinging to his neck as he carried her to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and fixed her hair, walking back to the bedroom where she found Vinnie sitting on her bed, phone in hand. She found an outfit layed out behind him.
She got dressed in silence, seeing as he looked upset and focused on whatever he was looking at on his phone. She soon discovered that it wasn't his phone, it was hers. She wouldn't of noticed if she hadn't decided to grab her phone in that moment.
She cautiously crawled into the bed. She had never had Vinnie mad at her before, only Jordan had ever gotten loud with her. From what she understood from things Jordan had told her, Vinnie could be explosive when he was angry.
"What are you looking at?" Aaliyah asked, attempting to peak over his shoulder at what he was looking at on the screen.
"You tell me." Vinnie answered, moving her phone to where she was able to see it.
Her eyes were met with the sight of a conversation she had with a guy from Tinder that had gotten a bit sexual. Guilt coursed her body, there was no denying that there was chemistry between her and Vinnie and she was terrified that she had just ruined it forever.
"Vinnie I'm so sorr-"
"Save it Aaliyah." Vinnie cut her off, standing up and tossing her phone gently on the bed.
"Wait, hold on. Why are you so angry with me?" Aaliyah turned as he began to walk out of her room.
"Because why are you talking to other guys?" Vinnie asked loudly, turning to face her.
"Because I'm a grown, single woman Vinnie, don't I have the right to do that?" Aaliyah asked.
"You don't seem that grown to me." Vinnie muttered under his breath.
"Really? And why is that?" Aaliyah stood up.
"Because who do you call every time you need something?" Vinnie asked.
"Why the fuck would you even say something like that? Especially when that's what you wanted me to do!" Aaliyah snapped.
"That's not what I want, it's what Jordan wants." Vinnie yelled.
"Then what do you want from me Vinnie?" Aaliyah asked, throwing her hands out in front of her.
"I want you to fucking love me." Vinnie answered.
The room grew silent and Vinnie nearly fainted after the words left his mouth. He knew he had no right to be yelling at her. She was right after all, she was single.
He shied away when she softly gasped and stared at him in disbelief. The feelings she had immediately re-emerged once the truth was finally out.
"Vinnie I do love you." Aaliyah said, stepping forward.
"Then why did you let things happen with the other guy?" Vinnie asked, his heart shattering at every last word.
"Because I didn't think you thought of me the way I thought of you and so I used him as a distraction. It didn't work because I had to see you the next day. That was the day we fucked at the beach. You didn't buy me anything that day, I just wanted you." Aaliyah answered, her voice much smaller than had been.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Vinnie asked.
"Because I didn't think you would want me the same way. I was afraid of being rejected." Aaliyah answered.
"I would have never rejected you." Vinnie said softly, stepping closer to her and pulling him into his body for the second time that day.
But what was coming next wasn't expected.
