ADA'S
"Mommy, I'm in Manila." I say smiling at my mom through our WhatsApp call.
I turn the camera around to show her my view of the city from my taxi cab window.
"It's so beautiful Ada, how far are you from your hotel?." "I'm about 5 mins from Manila's presidential suites."
I tell my mom before I turn my attention to the taxi driver. "Sir, how much do I owe you for the ride?."
"Php 1520.00 miss." He says smiling gleefully at me through the windshield mirror.
Suddenly, a different taxi drives right into the side of mine.
I freeze, MORTIFIED.
"Miss are you ok ?.
My driver asks me.
"I think so sir."
I tell him before I look outside to see who had hit us.
A greying man, looking to be about 60 years of age, comes out of the driver's seat of the other vehicle. He is being trailed by a man I assume is his passenger.
He's tall.
REALLY TALL .
His hair is black and I can't quite see his shadowed face.
My driver comes out of our vehicle and opens the passenger seat door, letting me out the car.
I pull my shirt down and smooth my bun.
I pause.
Someone is watching me.
I can feel eyes trailing my every movement. They feel soft on my skin despite how much they bother me.
I lift my face to catch the watchful eyes and immediately I know its HIM!!!.
The other vehicles passenger is HIM.
The man I met three years ago, perched at the entrance of my mother's salon.
The man I grew to love and then lost.
The man who has owned my heart for the past 3 years.
IT'S HIMDANIEL'S POV
"Ada?." "Ada is that YOU?." I ask her even though it's is so evidently her.
She's the only person in the world with her eyes, it could only ever be her.
"Danny ?." She says my name just as softly as I remember.
She jugs up to me with tears in her eyes. I can view our memories together playing in her mind through her STRIKING eyes.
I walk forward with my arms ready to receive her warmth.
Old memories of her soft, warm skin return to my mind.
She comes to a standstill in front of me for several moments.
My arms still open and face puzzled waiting for her to react, and then she does.
BOOM!!!!!
Her fist makes impact with my face.
A completely contrary reaction to the one I was hoping for.
"OUCHhh!!!!." I ring out.
I put my arms down from their previous position before lifting them towards my aching face.
"That's for not calling or texting me ONCE in 2 and 1/2 years you SCUMBAG."
She screams at my face.
The loving eyes I remember turning fierce.
I have no idea why I expected her reaction to be different.
I ghosted her for 3 years.
Regret finally took its place in my demeanor as i crumple into my self, face turned away from her.
A voice comes out of her phone and alarm creeps into her face.
"ADA are you ok ?. ADAAAA?. ADDA?." The unknown voice says.
She holds the phone to her face, then informs the woman who I now know his her mother of her well-being
"I,ll call you back mama." She says before placing a cold stare on me.
The blood runs out of my cheeks.
