Drive

I love drives.

I love seeing new places I've never been to and the feeling of bliss it comes with.

Here however, wherever I'm going right now, doesn't feel real.

The roads are winding, the part that scares me is it's only road.

Road and water.

I'm driving down a winding road that looks as if it stretches miles and miles with waves splashing all around it.

I am terrified, yet I continue driving because I refuse to turn back around.

I notice the waves keep getting bigger and bigger right in front of my eyes. The waves have gotten so big to the point where it's hitting the road and causing my car to lose control ever so slightly.

As each wave gets bigger, as it keeps crashing onto the road harder, the more I lose control of the car.

The last wave I see is the biggest one yet.

What is the most terrifying thing of it all?

It's not in front of me.

I can see it coming from my rear view mirror. I speed up only to feel the impact of the wave hit my car as my brother taps on my shoulder and asks if I can take him to school already.

Good thing too. I can't swim.
