Mateo opened his eyes, and glanced around the room he was in. He was in the lounge of the Investigator Base and could see his friends sitting across from him and starting to recover as well.
"I'm...I'm alive?" Demon was the first to say.
"The last thing I remember is a bright light..." Said Vuro. Yoshone, who was just as confused as the others turned on her coms.
"Dimitri? Warlord Tyrad? Are you there?" She asked.
"Yoshone?" Dimitri responded.
"Why are we back on Earth? What happened to Virenne?"
"I'm just as confused as you are, Dimitri. But I don't think Yoshone knows the answer to that." Said Tyrad.
"I do not." She responded.
"We fought her in space until she killed us." Said Velga.
"Where's Ragammia and Gaia?"
"Warlord? All the troops are alive. It's like we never fought against Creis to begin with." A soldier said to Tyrad on coms.
"Warlord, the portal is gone!" Said another soldier.
"Gone? Nothing's left of it?" Tyrad asked.
"Nothing. But the strangest thing is that there seems to be no evidence it was ever built." The soldier replied.
"Never built? Strange for sure...by the way, have you seen Commander Ragammia, Doctor Athena, and Princess Gaia?" Tyrad told the soldier.
"No...but I'll ask the rest of the soldiers." She Said.
"No need. I'll ask the entire base on the intercom." Said Tyrad, before logging off.

Gaia slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head up. She was lying in the bed inside her room within the Canterlot Castle and looked down at her hooves before feeling her body to confirm that she was alive.
"Gaia...?" The orange alicorn then looked towards the right side of the room to find a purple unicorn with blue eyes and a cutie mark of the math symbol representing absolute value on her flank.
"Trace?!" Gaia then leapt out of bed and embraced the mare in a tight hug.
"You're alive!"
"I am..." She responded in a questioning tone.
"Wait, since when did you become an alicorn?!"
"A lot of things happened while you were gone, Trace..." Said Gaia.
"But I'll tell you later. I want to see if Aunt Celestia's okay." Gaia then opened her bedroom door and flew out to the throne room.
"Gaia, wait!" Said Trace, teleporting to the throne room to find the princesses gazing nervously beneath them.
"Aunt Celestia! Aunt Luna!" Said Gaia, giving them both a hug.
"What's wrong?"
"Hello again, princesses." Said Trace. The two princesses then looked at her with bewilderment and disbelief.
"Trace Symmetry?!" Said Luna.
"How are you alive?!"
"I don't know...I woke up from a bright light. That's the most recent thing I can remember." She Responded.
"Aunt Celestia, What were you and Aunt Luna staring at?" Gaia asked again.
"See for yourself, Gaia." Said Celestia, as Gaia saw that the mirror portal was on the ground, the glass shattered into millions of tiny pieces.
"The portal...it's broken!" She said.
"Exactly. And while I can get another, I would like to know who did this." Celestia asked.
"If Trace is alive...maybe Grogar is, too. He could have destroyed it during that flash of light." Luna guessed.
"But Luna..." While the two Princesses argued about what could have happened to the mirror, Gaia realized that she would never be able to see Ragammia again. And while just the thought of that was heartbreaking, knowing that he was safe made her secure. She had no idea what had happened to him, his friends, or his world. But the thought of being with him was enough to satisfy her.
"Thank you, Ragammia." She Said out loud.
"I'll always hold you in my heart."

"Sir...it's been confirmed." One of the soldiers told him.
"There have been no reports or sightings of any of them. Assuming Gaia is back in Equis, which has separated from us, Ragammia and Athena are..."
"They're gone..." Said Velga.
"I thought we had sacrificed everything for him, but...he sacrificed everything for us."
"Shit..." Said Demon.
"God...how did he even..."
"It's over..." Said Mateo.
"Ragammia and Athena are dead..." He began to tear up before burying his head in his hands and letting loose.
"There is nothing left that we can do except honor his sacrifice." Said Yoshone.
"And even if we weren't built by the same creator...he felt like a brother to me."
"To all of us." Added Vuro.
"And that's why...*sniff*...I miss him so much..." Vuro began to cry as well and even Yoshone and Velga shedded some tears. Demon just stood where she was with an expression of anger and disappointment on her face.
"He's the only person I've ever lost to..."
"I...I don't even know what to say..." Dimitri said on coms.
"How...how could we let this happen..."
"There was nothing we could have done." Said Tyrad.
"It's all over now." Mateo then got up from where he was sitting and walked over to the elevator and riding it down to the ground floor. He then walked past the soldiers, who glanced at him with questions that they now knew the answers to. Mateo then opened the gate at the front of the base and walked outside, the blue sky filled with thick, white clouds that drifted happily on their way. He was then met with the gazes of the citizens in Megatropolis, who looked at him with a sense of accomplishment and sadness, wondering where he was going. The Investigator then walked for miles that he was not keeping track of until he was outside the city completely. The only thing he was thinking about was Ragammia and Athena until he realized he was at his destination, a rural village with a few buildings in a grass-filled pasture. But his sights were set on a hill overlooking the buildings. Mateo then climbed up the hill and took off the helmet on his armor before placing it on grass.
"Ragammia..." He Said, looking up at the sky and picturing his long, yellow hair, his blue helmet, and his emerald-green eyes with his smile.
"...you made the world still a thing...so now, we'll make it better as you wanted it. Because...that's all you really wanted, wasn't it? You wanted the world to be something brilliant like the rest of us. But...you gave up everything to make it that way..." Mateo then got down on one knee and saluted.
"But I assure you...what you did for us will prevail. I'll...no, We'll all make this world a better place. For you." Mateo then got back to his feet and began the walk back to the city, leaving his helmet in the grass behind him.

After the Virus Wars, everyone pulled their weight to bring the world back to a prosperous place. Mateo left the Investigators to become an even better scientist than before and even created his own group of Mega Men to protect the world. Yoshone left as well, going on a journey for enlightenment in order to better understand how to be a servant of justice. Velga and Vuro stayed with the Investigators to help Tyrad and Dimitri protect the world from any maverick outbreaks fighting until the very end to protect what they loved, just like Ragammia had. Since the bridge between Equis and Earth was no more, Gaia and the all the creatures of Equis held a celebration for all the heroes that had saved their planet which was thankfully, not interrupted. As for Demon, well, she did what she wanted to do, just like always. The Earth no longer had to deal with the treachery and corruption of Virenne, but now the empty loss of the hero that had defeated her. Hence, an enormous memorial was held for Ragammia, millions of people coming to honor the brave hero and building a statue of him in the center of the plaza in Megatropolis City. On the pedestal reads the famous last words of the Mega Man:

Ragammia Eclipse, the second Mega Man
203X-205X
You can't change the world as it is today, but you can make it better for tomorrow.

And that's what everyone is working to do: making the world better for tomorrow. Maybe now, with everyone in determined spirits and with a vigilant eye, the world can finally be at peace. And it's hard to believe it isn't already.

The End

Author's final note: Thanks for reading! This series actually took me longer than I had hoped to write. My first three were pretty light, but this one? My document was lagging so much, I had to split it up. Dr. Harris Mateo was actually a character created by my best friend and that's why the dialogue written for him seems different than the dialogue I wrote for the other heroes. I started this series back in 2018, now to finally finish it in 2020 (Corona was a name I came up with in 2017 and I'm not going to change it. Also, did any of you notice the Digimon references I threw in?). There were a lot of people that helped me along this journey, as it was a rollercoaster of emotions the whole way through, especially in my fourth story when some of my dark feelings became intertwined in the plot. But most of all, I would like to thank you, the reader. Because my ultimate goal with this story was to create something passionate for others to read. And knowing that others have liked, maybe even loved what I have dedicated part of my life to creating brings me great joy. I've tried writing an ongoing series in the past with beta versions of characters like Ragammia, Gaia, and Corona, but I was never able to come up with an end for that series. Three years later, I have finally succeeded with that. And I would like to end by appreciating you for taking the time to read this and understanding what this story means to me. I'll probably have other things to write about as this part of my life closes and a new one begins, but I really enjoyed writing this series very much. And I hope you enjoyed reading it. Rock on!
