You sighed as you put your hair up into a ponytail. Your life has been the same for the past ten years. Every time you looked in the mirror you didn't see you, you saw a broken person. Someone who was a failure. You were alone. All of your friends had moved on and had a family, or started a career that caused them to move away.

Every morning you went to Starbucks to get a coffee, the one thing that could cheer you up. As you told the nice cashier your order, a woman walked in. She was a little shorter than average height and had hair the color of auburn leaves that you would purposely step on to hear the delicious crunch in October. You didn't even notice yourself staring until the cashier cleared her throat.

"Oh! Sorry!" you said while stumbling away with your coffee. You took a seat and opened your laptop. As soon as you started typing you heard the seat across from you getting pulled out.

"Hey! Is it okay if I sit here?" you looked up and saw the girl you were staring at earlier. She had gorgeous eyes that were mainly brown with an outline of green. You imagined yourself staring into them for hours and hours on end. You carefully nodded and she smiled at you and took a seat.

"So, what's your name? I caught you staring at me earlier and thought I should talk to you."

"I'm Y/N," you said, taking a sip of your coffee. You weren't really one for talking, especially since you haven't had much human interaction in the past few years.

"That's a pretty name," she said sincerely, "I'm Debby. Short for Deborah."

As the two of you enjoyed each other's presence, you got to know each other more. You knew she looked the slightest bit familiar, and you eventually learned that she was in the tv show "Jesse" that your little siblings would watch all the time. You always thought she was pretty, but completely forgot about it until now.

Eventually, you started doubting yourself and asked, "Why are you talking to me?" She frowned at you and tilted her head.

"Because you're totes, hot babes," she said. You were not ready for this and your face started involuntarily heating up.

Soon she had to leave so you exchanged numbers and went your separate ways. You went to work and she went to wherever she was going; you had no idea where that was.

The next morning you were awfully chipper. You didn't really know why, all you knew was that it definitely had something to do with that Debby girl you met.

Suddenly your phone started ringing. It was your mom.

"Hey Y/N you know that one Debby Ryan girl," your mom said. Your mom was a social butterfly who loved to gossip. She always knew all the tea, who broke up with who, who was going out with who, and what happened to who. She would always call you and spill it because you loved hearing it.

Your face turned bright red and there were butterflies in your stomach as you remembered what happened yesterday. Why was your mom talking about Debby Ryan all of the sudden?

"Yeah," you said confused.

"Well, it turns out she and Josh Dun just got divorced! Can you believe this?" she said.

"Really?!" you shouted into the phone.

"Hey don't yell! I thought I raised you better than that you little devil" your mom scolded.

"Oh, sorry. I have to go to work now," you said, barely able to keep in your excitement. You might have a chance with her!
