1: First Day

4:15 p.m.

"The peripheral nervous system is like a tree branch; it spreads and reaches different areas of the body to lead to one specific area, the root. The brain. It's everything that connects to the - Excuse me, Mr. Choi."

Jeongguk shifts his gaze from taking notes, looking to the head doctor of the Neurology department, Dr. Jung Hoseok. The man is fiercely glaring at the man besides Jeongguk, Choi Yeonjun, who was in the midst of yawning while looking down the hallway to a nurse that passed by.

His gaze abruptly snaps to Dr. Jung, blotchy cheeks blazed red, clearly embarrassed before peeking out a hesitant chuckle, "Sorry, continue."

Dr. Jung remains with a stern look on his face before turning around, "You two have been selected to work in this specific department and have already went through various of training and clinicals for months in this hospital, from here on out you will be the one attend patients with a specialist monitoring you, and give a diagnosis to what they may possibly have and discuss it with a doctor from that point on."

Immediately Jeongguk's eyes flashed with a wide smile in excitement bubbling up in his body. After months and years of studying this, going through training and various of clinical experiences, he can finally be able to put his knowledge to the test and be like a real doctor!

And today just so happens to be his birthday, so he definitely couldn't ask for a better gift than this.

"Jeon Jeongguk," Immediately Jeongguk steps forward like a soldier, anticipated with his wide doe glittery eyes. Dr. Jung can evidently see his excitement and that gives him a sense of pride for the young boy. He has watched him be in this hospital for the past six years, working through his bachelors, masters and now doctrine degree as he elevates up - growing wiser and definitely a name for himself within the community here.

And what makes it worthwhile is his excitement to learn.

The want to be here.

To help people.

His passion for this job.

He'll definitely make a great neurologist for sure.

Twitching a smile, Dr. Jung stops in front of a door and knocks on it, eyes still at Jeongguk, "Unfortunately I won't be working with either of you, but for you Jeongguk, you'll be shadowed by Specialist Kang Yeosang and Dr. Lalisa Manoban."

Right on queue, the door opened and Jeongguk eyes immediately settled on the guy that opened the door.

Who seemed far too young than Jeongguk expected.

Even younger than him.

Taken off guard by this, Jeongguk cocks his head slightly to the side, just as a female comes up behind him with glasses over her wide eyes.

Now Jeongguk has seen her before.

During his pursuit for his Bachelors degree, he would be assigned as a nurse to patients. During those moments, he would see Dr. Manoban on a few occasions entering in and speaking with the patients.

Very clever, bright and has a soft voice when talking to the patients that immediately eases them down and feel this sense of trust with her.

So Jeongguk is pretty excited to be able to work with her and learn more through her learning.

Meanwhile for Dr. Kang, he sure has never seen him before around here.

With just one glance, he looks more monotone compared to Dr. Manoban - Kind of directly to the point kind of guy. It still doesn't wrap around Jeongguk's head that he's a specialist while appearing so.... Young.
